Update: Now running a burrito wick of 200 mesh on the BBM/Synth. It's metering at .5-.6 ohms and the flavor/vapor is off the charts. It does dry out if I hold the button too long, but it's still a vast improvement over the other setups I've tried on this device. Sent from Android using TapaTalk

There's a short somewhere that's causing the current to trip the amp limit of the battery... IIRC this can damage the mosfet in the battery. Older batteries most likely have lower amp limits. These are the reasons most prefer mechanical mods with safer chemistry batteries (IMR; AW and MNKE)...
