Those using grommets such as the Submarine from Tanks - Mom and Pop Vapor Shop are pretty solid and don't slip on the cartomizer. Another popular grommet tank is the Chibi.

The tubing sounds good. The grommets should be 5/8" OD to fit the ID of the tubing. I don't think the 3/4" OD will fit. (These grommets are pushed into the inside of the tube so you need the same diameter as the ID of the tube.) The right size for the grommets are: 5/16 ID (bore size) 5/8 OD...

I find that the grommets are much tighter once the carto is in the middle. Try it you'll see what I mean. I also use o-rings in the indendation of the grommets, 7/16 id 5/8 od are the right size for the o-rings. For anyone interested in trying grommets make sure you get vinyl not rubber...

If the grommets are rubber the taste of that will get in your juice. I'm speaking from experience (tasted like vaping tires). Vinyl grommets are much better. Radio shack sells a 31 pack of assorted vinyl grommets for $2.29, it includes 7 in the right size. Or you can order a 50 pack from Amazon...
