Oh God. I got sent to find Mum rather specific winter pants recently. And with stores struggling with stock, since we don't manufacture locally it was a huge ordeal. We're good, just trying to get through the next couple of months so our country can get back to normal. Not the NEW normal, just normal.
how is everyone else?
Glad to hear that.I'm good
Glad to hear that.
I was wondering how far you were from Raz Simone's fiefdom.
Turns out it's about 5 miles.
LOVE the Lochaber! I've been peeking at the albums here and there and so far you haven't made one I didn't like!just by way of idle chit-chat . . . .
my adventures led me to finally getting up the gumption to tackle some kind of welding/brazing/yada. I felt constrained/limitated, and wanted to be able to make the shapes out of the materials that kin'a require that (hard to bend 1/8" thick steel in two directions at once . . . not impossible, just difficult).
so anyhow, I did a little research and decided that oxy-fuel torch brazing (like, with brass rod and silver rod . . . . 1650°F and ~1350°F) would do me very nicely.
so, then, I did some gearing up (meaning, figured out how to tweak the torch gear products system to get the most bang for very little buck)
and, then, I did some learning curve
and now I've got my first lamp that avails itself of that newfound "skill" (quotes because this is green skilz).
So this one is "Self Portrait". And you can see more pics in it's album.
and I think I've got at least 2 other lamps under my belt since I last mentioned anything about it: "Omega" and "Mossflower".
(they have their own albums over there too)

The Lochaber axe took many incarnations, all of them having a few elements in common. It was a heavy weapon, used by infantry for defence against cavalry and as a pike against infantry. Like most other polearms of the time, it consisted of two parts: shaft and blade.thank you, sweetie
I've seen and appreciated your likes on the insti-thingy too
