on this AfBlack, the camera is trying real hard to do a good job. this leads to an automatic increase of the exposure value. So, in most of the pics, it's going to look lighter and browner than it does to the naked eye. The first 2 pics are the best approximation of color. After that, the raised exposure value doesn't reflect true color; but it does better show what's going on with the grain/figure.

Shame it's not a little thicker, that would make a phenomenal Nutter. Twin pinches would be pretty awesome though.

that African Blackwood is some hard, hard wood. (I think it's one of the top hardest woods in the world.) Relax.
If you oversquonk tho, or if there's pooling on top of your cap, you have to assume it's also crept around and under the cap too. So, pull the cap and clean/dry underneath too when you find you need to clean up top. (you know, if putting your finger in your hole causes you to spill some juice)
