#1 my dad had 5 kids all two years apart, made 32000 dollars a year while I was growing up, put his wants and needs aside to keep us fed and clothed. At the time, I didn't like him. Now we are all grown up, he sirvived cancer, and still survies his other 4 kids moochin off him. I'm in the military now and I miss when I could just sit on the porch and bullsh#t with him. He showed me how a real father works his .... off for his family, and how to have a real relationship with a woman, he truly is my hero. And I hope to someday be just like him. I love my dad cause.....well he is my dad and has been toy friends and everyone who needed a male figure in their life. I miss I dad see u when I'm home. :)

When my step-father married my mom he was 45, never married before, no children. Poor guy got the shock of his life --My brother and I were teens -- and we were horrible!!!
It took us years to find common ground and come to terms -- we survived my teen years, we came together to be there for my mom and take care of her as she battled cancer, we grieved together when she lost that battle and was taken from us ... and somehow we came through the other side as father and daughter.

So, I love and admire my dad for the love and devotion he showed my mother, for his patience in waiting out my and my brother's young and dumb years, for loving us when we were unlovable, and for being such a wonderful example for us.
