#1 I love my dad b/c he served our country faithfully in the Air Force for 20 + years.

#2 I love my dad b/c when I was little and needed help with math homework, he would make up an extra page of
math problems for me to do so I would really 'get it"! I didn't like it at the time but it made me get extra practice in my
school work. And I needed all the help I could get in math.

1. My dad never let us know when times where hard. As an adult, I can look back and see how tough things were sometimes, but he never let us notice.

2. No matter how stupid of a stunt I had blow up in my face, my dad was always there to pick me up, kick me in the .... and help me put the pieces back together.

3. My dad taught me the work ethic, especially important rules to live by like "You don't call in sick if it's self-inflicted."

4. My dad taught me to fish and hunt and to know my way in the wilderness.

5. My father showed me what true strength really was, right up to the end.

6. I know I wasn't what my father expected in a son, but he never let it show.

7. My father provided me with a model to follow when I became a father myself.

8. Even though my daughter isn't mine by blood, my father never treated her any differently than the other grandchildren.

9. My father let me bring him closer to me so I could spend more time with him before it was too late.

10. This is going to be my first father's day without a father. I don't know if this fits the contest but I just have to say that I really, really miss him. This is going to be so damned hard.

#10 - My father passed away four years ago but I still miss him terribly. I just want to thank him for all the lessons he taught me some of which I've mentioned in my previous posts. Happy Father's Day Dad. Miss you!

I love my dad b/c he has been battling MDS for the last 6 years, and Alzheimer's for the past 3 years, he hasn't complained about the hand that life has dealt him. All the weekly blood tests he has endured, all the chemo treatments he
has gone through over he last 6 yrs to keep him alive, he never complains. Bless his heart. I have so much love for this man!

#7 I love that my dad was very patriotic. He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force.

#4 I love my dad because he taught me how to fish. And he taught me how to shoot a weapon. Even though I was a girl,
he took me hunting with him. And my heart broke when he returned from Vietnam and wouldn't hunt again. He told me " I know what it feels like to be hunted".
