Thank you Mroutlaw and Konstantine for the information about multimeters!!!! There's a Radioshack about 1/4 mile from me, guess what I'm going to buy today....:)

Thanks to everyone else who has joined the conversation. That's one of the great things about the SI forum, we always work together to help each other and we also have Imagine to help us too.

Okay....after I get the multimeter (and if I don't blow up the house first) I'll be back. :D

They have a small pocket one at RadioShack it is gray and comes in a hard plastic case.

I think I will post a video on how to use it. That is information that I think people could really use.

I received my CE3's last night. I certainly like them more than cartomizers and will probably never use a carto again. The taste is cleaner because there's no polyfill and like a clearo, it's easy to see how much fluid is left. I also have not had any leaking issues whatsoever.

There have been some problems, though. As others have stated, some of the center posts are recessed, resulting in the battery not making a connection. Of the three I tried, two wouldn't fire on my 78mm auto without making adjustments. I did get all three running, however.

My second problem is that I keep getting a burned flavor. I don't think it's the primer fluid. It starts out tasting great, but after a few drags, the fluid tastes burnt. I can work around this by taking shorter drags with pauses in between, but if I vape the way I normally do, it seems like there's too much heat. The X2 seems to cause this more than the 78mm.

On the bright side, my 78mm auto is being used regularly again.

Of the five flavors I have loaded right now, there is one I have to be careful with. If I take too many drags close together it doesn't actually taste burned but I can tell it's getting close. I figured it wasn't wicking as fast as the others and then saw in Mroutlaw's post that is what is happening.

I remember when I first started using cartos I used to get so frustrated I was ready to pitch them out the nearest window. But once I learned how to fill them properly and take care of them I grew to really like them. It will be the same thing once I learn to 'master' these CE3s. I already love the good, clean flavor they deliver and the fact that I can see the juice level. And they just look so darn good on the slim batts.

The battery post thing seems to be a quality control thing in china. The ones from the other company did the same thing.

As for the issue of the juice not getting to the coil, that will never get resolved by any company. Every juice delivery device that is ever made, unless it is simply a dripping atty, will have issues with flooding and dry hits. As ...... off as I get with quality control in china, this juice issue isn't their fault. It comes from the fact that every juice has a different viscosity and therefore wicks better or worse. They can't guess which juice we use. Even worse, the viscosity changes even when you have the same ratio of pg/vg. I can buy a 70/30 blend from two different places and one will be thicker than the other. The only way you could ever fix this issue is have one company that makes all juice the same and then the devices could be made to those specs.

All the other issues are just the normal Chinese quality control. It is a game to them to see how cheaply they can make a product and the number one place they cut is QC. That's why it's so important to shop from a vendor like SI that has good customer service.

That might explain the burning taste I'm getting. All my juices have high VG ratios and are quite thick.

Positive Update on my CE3's... Originally I had 3 out of 5 not working, with a little tinkering (lifting posts on batteries/ce3's) I now have 4 out of the 5 WORKING :D
The 1 dead one popped & died on my brand new manual X2 but I keep trying to get it working lol (remembers the six million dollar man tv show "we can rebuild it,we have the technology" :D
I still am finding that some will work on my 78's while some only work on my X2's, it's a little annoying but when these are working they are BRILLIANT.
I wonder why they cant produce them with the same connections as the cartomizers (thats if they do or dont, I dont know) but I never have a problem with them fitting & working on ALL of my batteries.
I'm not a fan of the needle filling (while concentrating on my needle skills I accidentally tipped over my juice bottle & lost 15 mls of juice) arrrrgggghhhhhh nooooooo
Really looking forward to the non needle version people have been talking about :D :2cool:

Just keep in mind that the same syringe is pretty handy for suckin' up 15 mls of spilled nicquid. That's what recovers it best for me ................ unless it's on the floor .......

Ok.. I raised the post on the CE3 with needle nose pliers. Actually, pulled it out, got it sitting back in, then screwed it on the X2. Got 2 pops, and now it seems to be working. No leaking (yet).

Vape quality: excellent thus far. It seems to have the flavor of a clearo with the heat of a carto. If this works consistently, it's definitely my setup.

I just used my juice on Phoenix bottom coils and it was great. Now, my FIRST Ce3 from SI the juice tastes like burned garbage and it's gurgling every draw. The rubber top seal looks pushed down way too low by the draw tube but I can't be sure. It doesn't look right on the next one out of the box either, but I'm not sure exactly where it's supposed to sit. Leaking out the top -- couldn't even handle one slow needle fill.

FIRST ONE.

Sad to report my 1st fail of a SI CE3. The coil burned out just like on all the GV ones.At least it took a few days to happen but I'll go back to the clearo's when these are gone. If they ever get them right I'll come back. these give the best vape I've ever experieced.

That’s really strange.
I have yet to pop a coil even with aggressive dry burning to get some thick gunk of a coil in one I’ve filled every day for the last 3 weeks.

I know we ran through the gamut of things to try with your last batch, so I’m at a loss on what to suggest.

Rave: I saw your splendid setup with your new ce3's. Have you vaped from all of them yet? I'm having better luck with mine now and just wondered if all of your were working.

Mine are all vaping fine, but I did have to raise the battery posts on a couple of them. Other than that: I'm in vape heaven! :)

No leaks either.

Sitting down, facing forward.
So far, it looks like the luck of the draw with CE3s. Mine, at least the two I am using at the moment, are working fine. I did stop using the VG vanilla liquid in them, the popping and burning was getting out of hand and making a mess in the CE3 with burnt liquid residue. That liquid is quite thick and can't be drawn into a syringe thru the needle. I cleaned that CE3, had to use a dental pick to get the inner silicon seal out, but it did clean up and it's working fine with SI RY4 at the moment. It'll be a while before I use more of them since I want to test for lifespan, so I'm going to stick with the first two until they die. I will say cleaning them, getting the inner seal out, the center post/air tube out and then putting it back together is more difficult than cleaning a clearo, so I'll test liquids with clearos in the future and keep the CE3s for single flavor use.

Something I am wondering about is how many people are using them overall and what is the overall percentage of problems? More than one of us posting here has had excellent results with them, while others have had problems of one sort, or multiple sorts, or another. As a new product for SI, I think we should all expect some performance issues and rely on SI to do their thing with support and working things out. I hope SI gets as good support from their manufacturer as they provide to us if there are manufacturing problem. I know I was anxious to try them and would have been disappointed if I had experienced some of these problems, but patience will be the best tool in our arsenal.
