Be sure the screws are tight and the pin is tight holding the positive block.
Thanks for the comment!Sounds like you're shorting across a coil. I'm betting that When you re wicked there was too much cotton and you had to force it. You pullled the coil out of shape.
I'd try another dry burn, and give the coil a goood wiggle with the mandrel you used to wrap it. Make sure the thing looks regular and the coils don't overlap.
The mod and battery should be fine regardless. It's just a coil with a hot spot. This does mean the coil won't work well and will eventually melt through. It's pretty easy to fix. The short will show up as unevenly bright spots during a dry burn. Look for the hot spots and poke at them till it's an even color. I've done fixes for problems like this with just a tooth pick. Thanks for the comment!
I'll replace it with a spare coil tonight.
My question still though... Will kanger mini 75w mod shut down in case something goes wrong with the coil? Or does the short happen so fast that the battery will explode anyway?

Ditto. The only possible danger is melting the coil and wasting it. It's not impossible that the coil will spontaneously fix itself too. I've seen that happen. It is safe. Vape on![]()
