I agree with you. The nicotine makes for a much harsher hit. As an analog smoker, I need the nicotine. My wife bought some nicotine free liquid, and it doesnt have the same punch as mine. The flavor she has is a Lychee flavor by The Mitsu. As far as flavor goes, it really is very nice. The problem is that there is almost no smoke, and you can puff away all day and still need to go outside for a smoke break.

So far one of my favorites is 15 ft falls from Alice in Vapeland. I also really enjoy Honey Peary from Vapor Chef.
Regarding the poster above talking about no vapor production... that shouldn't be as a result of no nicotine. That's usually a hardware issue or the juice is high in PG. VG is the one that produces vapor for the most part. A High PG is likely not to produce much vapor wise. I personally prefer nothing higher in PG than 50. Seems so far my favorite is a simple 50/50

I vape 0 about 60% of the time - 3 or sometimes six the rest of the time. I'm still a huge newbie so I am still learning. One issue I'm having is that the makers I seem to like are the heavy on the VG or VG only side, and I'm having trouble finding good clearos/tanks etc. that work with that high a VG level. Do you think the fact that it's also 0 nic makes it even harder?

No. 0 nic doesn't mean anything/not any different than other juice besides the fact that it doesn't have nicotine. The only thing I suspect is that it alters flavor. But thickness wise, if something is 30% vg 70% pg, nicotine or not, should be the same thickness. High VG juices usually don't wick as easily. So if you like tanks, I wouldn't recommend anything higher than a 50/50 blend... which I find the best anyway. For dripping 70VG 30 PG is good but it takes forever to steep.

I'm looking to get some zero nic for my straight edge friend to try (he doesn't ingest any drugs aside from caffeine) but he really wants to know what the smoking action feels like. Thinking on picking up a cheap disposable one for him to try out since I know he won't get seriously into vaping anyways
Smoking is like smoking. Nothing is exactly like it, especially in the no nicotine option. Nicotine provides the throat sensation that resembles inhaling an analog.(cigarette) PG provides throat hit as well but in my experience, not nearly as much. Barely any of my no nicotine juices provide much of a throat hit but I vape no higher than a 50%PG. So I guess you could try a higher PG but it's not going to give your friend the feeling of a cigarette.
