What a small world it is! I lived on Ford Island from 85 - 88 and moved to Halsey Terrace until 90. It took all of about 5 minutes walking to be directly behind the Arizona Memorial while we were on Ford. This was the view from our front yard

Dam718 - Looks like you've been around there long enough to have seen the bridge being built.

And to add further to the smallness, my son is stationed at Pearl and I just got back from visiting. Stayed at the Mariott Beach Club in Ko Olina. Niiiiiice place. He vapes too. If you see a 6'6" Sailor with big ears and an Ego/Vivi setup, that'd possibly be him. Seems like everyone else there vapes on Volcano's. The Caravela dropped a few jaws.

Edit: Oh, if you do decide to try Ahlusion, email the owner first. He's a reservist Devil Dog and has Service friendly policies like 15% automatic discount and free shipping to FPO/APO's.

Yeah, Volcano is VERY popular here in Hawaii... Imagine that!

A lot of folks I know use the Inferno kits... So when I show up with my shiny mirror polished ProVari everyone is like When did volcano start carrying that? Haha... I can imagine the Caravela attracted some attention... Those things are gorgeous...

I knew I recognized the chick in your avatar, don't know why I couldn't put Amy Lee to the face... Probably cause I've never seen her against a white background... :)

After reading through other threads and knowing you're a big fat wine-o and have been for 30 years, well, I knew it wasn't you! LoL No way that chick is anywhere near 51!

Thanks for spilling the beans... The world has now been lifted from my shoulders

That's funny man everyone I take a mod or non volcano juice into their vape lounge I always get the stares too. Haven't seen many mods in the wild around here, lots of inferno kits though.

So this thread has gone way off topic, but hello, from another Oahu Vaper! I don't go to the Volcano Vape Lounge, but I'd be alright with swinging by when I've got some free time...we can have our little own Provari corner!

Anyway, I agree. You aren't vaping at .2 ohms, that would be crazy. I'm unfortunately at 1.2 on my RBA on my Provari, and I know it won't want to fire below about .8 ohms...which is well above what you're claiming. Not trying to be mean here, just making a comment. After using the 28 gauge kanthal, I think I like staying in the 30+ gauge range, personally. That way I have more room to mess around with the voltage setting on my Provari!

does anybody know what gauge wire would be the same thickness as 3 strands of 30 gauge twisted together?

It's rudimentary math. You need to find the cross section surface area of a single 30ga wire (π × r2) and multiply that times 3. Then once you have that, use the π × r2 area forumla on thicker gauge wire to find the closest match. That is a different formula though, than finding the guage that is equal to the circumference distance of 3 pieces of 30 gauge... Not sure what you are shooting for.

I want to thank everyone for the entertainment. I have laughed and face palmed myself silly reading through this thread. I work with DMMs all day long and I'm not going to get into the proper use and reading of them, but yeah, 1.7Ω is the more realistic value given OP's lack of, well....... experience, yeah that's it, experience, with a DMM.

Next to quote a great man. Captain Marko Ramius, "Your conclusions were all wrong, Ryan...Halsey acted stupidly." Sorry had to.

And now onto the cat's meow. Everyone seems very captivated with Mouiex's Avatar. I propose a better image.

well i am actually shooting for ohms below .1 and i know i've achieved something below .1 because provari says e1 =p

oh.. and im using a mechanical mod(the natural) with a full 18350 battery.

i'm just popping in to say that even if you had a sub 1-ohm coil built the provari could probably still read it, it will fire a .9 ohm

Moueix... I think you just redefined my understanding of "rudimentary".
I still think that's you in the avatar. Even though I know its not.

ok.. im feeling a lot of haters right now. i've been schooled by everyone in this post and now i know that my RBA isnt at .002 ohms.. and yes.. we all know that i have the crappiest DMM on the market and just barely learned how to use it.. but it bothers me that nobody believes me when i say now that its .2 ohms... that video of the guy blowing the 3way clouds is Pat from Vapelyfe. he has been schooling me in the art of making clouds and believe it or not, the ohms on his igo RBA is .3 in this video. Dual coil 26ga 3 loops on 4 strands of silica wick.. doubt me? ask him.

So would you say you have two 0.4 ohm coils? It was hard to see from your pic - series or parallel?
I don't think anyone hates you - its just a lot of watts, you know?

I do have 2 coils.. im not sure i know the difference between series and parallel so i cant answer that. could you please tell me whats the difference so that i may better answer your question?

I'll try. So you have two coils - a dual coil. If a circuit is wired in series it doubles the resistance - a 1.2 ohm coil plus another 1.2 ohm coil would give you 2.4 ohm dual coil.
If the circuit is wired in parallel then you get a total that is half of the resistance measure of one coil - 3.0 ohm coil and another 3.0 ohm coil gives you 1.5 ohm dual coil.

So if you are saying your ohms are 0.2 with dual coils - you either have a series circuit with two 0.1 ohm coils, or a parallel circuit with two 0.4 ohm coils.

Alternatively, if your ohms are really 1.7 ohms - you have either a series circuit with two 0.85 ohm coils, or a parallel circuit with two 3.4 ohm coils.
