milligrams + milliliter = a pack

I smoked marlb. ultra lights and smoked about 25 cigs per day and they are about .5 mg of nic. per cigarette so that means I consumed approx. 12.5 mg of nic per day with my old smoking habit. Vapeing 1 ml of mg 12.5mg is the same as 2ml of 6.25mg eliquid..only difference is I get to vape more.

IMO taxing nic is a crazy idea to start with, but I'm sure eventually and unfortunately it will most likely happen. I am happy to pay regular sales tax (Canada) but beyond that would not be happy!!

Having said that, I'm sure they will take the avg nic in a pack of analogs and tax e-liquid the same. Let's hope it never gets there tho! Is inhaling nic in any form totally risk free? I don't know!! What I DO know is that trying every "approved" mathod to help people quit has failed for me. If I didn't have the chance to use a PV, I still would be inhaling nic along with all of those other chemicals! I don't even really want a stinky stick! I feel better than I have in years! So let's hope the "powers that be" don't tax pv's and accessories out of reach!!

A learning opportunity :)

The nic value on a cig is nominal absorbed nic, based on lab tests.

The nic value for eliquid is what is in the liquid. We only absorb a fraction of the nic in eliquid. Estimates of how much vary, there are multiple factors, it might easily be as low as 1/6 depending on experience, equipment, inhalation style,...

If they do tax it heavily, there'll be a lot of small packages marked "Vitamins" coming in from China. They can't check all of them.

All over the place
Here in NY a pack of smokes cost almost 10$ , so talk like that is not helpful

Oh, I am sorry, I didn't know help was needed. In your original post you asked "what's yours?" not "where do you live in NY?". I must have misconstrued "what's yours?" to be a call for opinions.

Here are my milliliters to smokes comparison: I have a one pack of smokes that I have had for a year, and I go through probably 3mls of juice a day. So, that would would mean a pack of cigarettes would be equal to about a freakin' liter of juice for me. LOL

p.s. I am sorry if you didn't see my words as helpful, I meant it as my truth, not "help", per se.

Help in as far as our effort to keep the price(tax) low

So if I vape 3ml of 30mg a day how many cigarettes would that be equal to? I smoked Marlboro lights......

I think it all depends on you gear. With a basic ego dripping probably
1.5ml, with a carto 2.5. Now if I'm using my VV at 5v or higher I can easily put down 5ml a day in a dual coil tank.. Also what is your mix pg/vg. I know 50/50 last longer than 75pg/25vg at higher volts. That all needs to be factored in before you even ask how Mg is in your juice.

So many variables when it comes down to that one simple question "How much to you vape a day"

Sadly this is way to much for a government to understand.

If your absorbtion is running about 1/6, then 90/6 = 15 mg of nicotine absorbed. About the same as a pack of Marlboro lights US version.

Even if you are more efficient, pushing 25% absorbtion, you are at 1-1/2 packs' worth of nicotine, with none of the other garbage.

All up in your grill..
It is my opinion that if the government gets heavily involved in the regulation of these products, self administered liquid refilling will become a thing of the past. I hope I am wrong. But it's hard to imagine otherwise based on the gov's track record of greed and a desire to punish nicotine users. To make matters worse the pharma industry has a STRONG lobby and is IMO in bed with the FDA. E-cigs are far more of a threat to NRT's then any other industry, including washington's Sin tax loving crowd.

But I will do my best to address your question regardless of that. The short answer is that it depends on how you use it and what type of equipment you have. Using high volt or a dual coil you are going to go through liquid much faster then 3.7 on a standard carto or atty. Nic concentration matters as well. Then of course it also depends on what you are using these things for in the first place. For example: If you are using a 1.6 ohm dual coil tank and are vaping for the joy of doing so (and not for nic) then 1 mil is probably not even equivalent to 5 cigs. If you are using a 510 with a 3ohm atty and doing so for the nic effect, using 24mg juice? 10 mils may indeed be equivalent to 10 packs of cigs (or even more) depending on how many puffs it takes for you to be satisfied. Sorry if that's not helpful, but I doubt it's going to go the way you think anyway and the truth is that it's actually pretty convuluted.

You absorb MUCH more nicotine in smoke particles than in vapor

it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to determine how much nicotine you are getting from smokes or from vaping.

for example: if you take a short pull and blow it out immediately, you will absorb much less nicotine than someone who takes large pulls and holds them in. two people could be vaping the same exact mg/ml juice and absorb different amounts.

vaping/smoking technique will much more grately affect the level of nicotine absorption than the actual level of nicotine in the juice. hardware plays a huge role in this, as does your own body's metabolism. some people absorb and process chemicals much more quickly than others. it might not have ever been as appropriate as now to say: YMMV.

I vape so much the mg doesn't affect me much except I have to put it down sometimes at 18 with nic overload

What sux is im forcing myself to have to vape only those flavors but eventually ill be down to zero so I wont be taxed lol

I use a Provari with Genuine Joye SR 510 attys.. I use Innovapors 100% VG 30 mg liquid... My attys run @ 2.1-2.2 ohms and I vape @ 4.7-5.0 volts.. I know what you mean about putting down 5ml a day... Rather then lowering my Nicotine levels I am tring to keep my ml usage to 3ml a day.....
