Grats FB,

Also I notice almost 15k not spent on cancer sticks, so how much do you think your ahead? I personally am way behind but the wife keeps us even as she is happy with what she has. I just need one more REO.:)

I'm something over $9K in the red right now over what analogs would have cost me if I had continued to smoke. vaping has not been cheaper by any means, not even close in my case, but it has been alot more fun.

Unbelievable isn't FB? So many cigarettes that we would have smoked, makes it embarrassing when I look at my own numbers. In addition to the money not spent on tobacco I have also avoided the at least once a year bronchitis bout. No more taking time off for doctors visits and coughing a lung up every morning. I feel so much healthier and I didn't have to go into withdrawls thanks to vaping.

Congratulations FB and everyone else who has found a way to feel better about themselves.

Beast, you got me to thinking about how many cigs I have gone through since I started smoking. I should be dead, no doubt about it. Over 756,000. And the sad part is that there are hooples that have probably smoked longer than me. Thanks for posting this thread. I just wish all of the peeps who haven't quit yet, could go thru and read it.

The numbers are staggering when counting cigs instead of time. I tried it yesterday ,when people ask about vaping saying "I've avoided smoking 40k cigs since I stared vaping" gets a completely different reaction than say "I've not smoked in 3 years"

Congrats FB !!
I quit 3 years ago as well and finally got my lady on her REO last year! :)
The only thing we are trying to figure out is where is the money we are saving??? Between the 2 of us we figure we spent $6000 per year on stinkies. It strange how that money just gets sucked up in everyday life unless you purposley put cigarette money in a jar each day!

I just noticed my counter is almost at 40,000 cigarettes avoided. I knew it was over 3 years since I quit but that number really brings it home.
Congrats my friend...the counter really puts it into perspective. 40,000 cigs is miserable to think about. Congrats brother :)

Hey FB,

Here are some more fun numbers to impress your friends with....

At 40k cigs missed, and assuming 85 mm length (standard size) and .9 gm mass (of tobacco) per cig, you get:

3,400 km (2,113 miles) of cigarettes placed end to end. That's the distance between LA and Pittsburgh.

36 kg (79.2 lbs) of tobacco.

First of all, congrats FB!

That's really interesting. It's always been the number of cigarettes not smoked that's been the most motivating for me...makes me envision a giant pile of nasty stinky cig butts that turn my stomach.
I'm going to start quoting my not smoked numbers to people that ask about vaping...maybe they will also find it more motivating if they really think about how many cigarettes they smoke.
