I bought my first e-cig a week ago. It was OK, I didn't love it. The flavor was kind of burnt vanilla or harsh cheap tobacco, and I was hanging in there and trying to accept it as a healthier alternative to an analog.

3 days in, my Volt starter kit arrived. I ripped open the package, screwed a cappuccino carto on one batt and a watermelon on the other and prepared to be disappointed. I inhaled, and a choir of angels sang hallelujah. I no longer felt deprived. My vape started to satisfy my craving, and I realized I hadn't liked tobacco for a long time.

Exactly one week (down to the time of day) I purchased my first unit, I found myself riding in the car with the friend I started smoking with 20 years ago. She's still smoking. She tried the PV and liked it, but lit an analog within a few minutes. She couldn't believe I hadn't touched one. She asked if I'd "quit" for good. Hmmmmm.... I never really decided I was quitting, I was just tired of the money it was costing me, the fact that my asthma is so bad I shouldn't smoke at all, let alone a pack a day, and although my boyfriend is OK with my smoking, he's a non-smoker and I know I stink. I tried the first one on a whim and decided this is something I can probably deal with.

I decided to have an analog. It's been a week without a single cigarette, so I'm doing good right? Well, apparently even after just a week, my body now recognizes that analogs are full of God only knows what horrible stuff. It literally tasted like I stuck my tongue in an ashtray, I immediately coughed, and I didn't want to finish it. I alternated puffs of analog with puffs of grape vapor.

I was asked by another friend afterwards if I felt bad that I "fell off the wagon". Not at all. I've been telling myself for the past week that I'd much rather vape than smoke, that I never really enjoyed the taste of cigarettes etc. I just confirmed that. My original smoking buddy alternated between a vanilla and grape cart the rest of the night, apologizing for costing me money. LOL... WAY less than when someone asks for a cig. I sent her home with the "old" 901 kit. She's planning on getting the Volt next week when she gets paid. We used to have girl chat and each of us would kill a pack on Friday or Saturday night. Now we can vape while we chat, indoors, and not be killing ourselves.

Good to hear. I wish you the best of luck!

This is my second go at ecigs. The first was in 2009. The equipment back then just frustrated the hell out of me so I went back to analogs. This time around I went back to Pure Smoker andd I grabbed a Prodigy V3.1. It's awesome not to worry about batteries or switches. I still feel like I'm missing something but I went from 1½ packs a day to low nic and no nic ejuices. Seems my body is still wanting higher doses of nicotine and whatever other nasty addictive chemicals Newports contained.

I can't remember the last time I enjoyed a smoke for the nicotine alone. However I did like the ritual and the social benifits it provided. The downsides are just to great. I felt I was getting to the age where I wouldn't have much of a life left if I didn't make a change.
