1 year and 2 months analog free and 300% frustrated

I feel disheartened. I started with the typical starter kit, graduated to a pro tank and then the iTaste and iClear 30. THEN went on to the Vamo, aspires bds tanks, and now Eleaf products. So....everything leaks!!! I just wanted to quit smoking. I've played with rebuilding and it's cool but I don't understand why simply refilling tanks causes leaking. I clean my tanks and replace coils but still get leaking, especially on my GS Air (I love).
Any advice or, "been there, done that" success stories, would be very helpful. I'm at my wits end. :)

I hate for anyone to be disheartened. I'm not quite three months in and applaud you for sticking with it as long as you have if you are having so many problems with every kind of equipment.

Where exactly is your GS Air leaking? 510 connector? top? glass? connection with the base? I have two and have no trouble with leaks.

I have heard some leaking problems are due to over-tightening, as counter-intuitive as that might sound.

Or is the leak WHEN you fill. Then you are probably trying to get as much juice in as you can and making a mess. I do this sometimes:unsure:. Try leaving a little room.

Lots of friendly folk using the GS Air in this thread if you don't get help here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/clearomizers/642824-eleaf-gs-air-fan.html

Hey, I had this problem when I started vaping too. My aspire nautilus tank would always leak. I took a few months from vaping due to frustration and came back recently. The aspire atlantis tank that I currently use has not leaked at all for me yet. I'd checkout the aspire atlantis or kanger subtank depending on the mod you currently have.

Sorry to hear that you're having problems Tjolee.

I have not vaped the hardware you've used and I am all rebuildable these days so I will probably never vape that stuff. I did however start vaping three years ago when the available devices were not nearly as good or reliable as they are today and I have a few of my own horror stories from those times :)

The one piece of advice I would like to pass on to you is do not move on to other hardware until you have mastered what you have first. Mastering it means that you have figured out how to get the most you can from it. Of the hardware you mentioned the one I am most familiar with from my time on this forum is the Protank. I believe that can be vaped with very little to no leaking if you know how to do it. Having said that, everything will leak a small amount at times and there is almost no way to get around that. My definition of a 'small amount' is a few drops.

Nothing in vaping is totally plug and play. There are techniques and little 'tricks' that once learned will really help you with the hardware you have. Once that is learned, you'll take that knowledge with you to the next hardware you try. Smoking is easy, you can't beat simply light it and inhale, but the health consequences are nasty.

Hang in there and perfect one device you've got now. That's what worked for me. Best of luck with it my friend!

Original Nautilus leaked like mad, fixed with the Nautilus mini, never had it leak once, outstanding tank for lung to mouth..full air 1.8 ohm at 11W

Original Kanger Subtank leaded like mad, fixed with the Kanger Subtank mini, never had it leak once, outstanding lung hitter on both coils but I like a cooler vape..full air 1.2 ohm 17W.

Subtank for indoors at evenings, Nautilus for the rest of the time and going out, both using the Istick 30W, easy, simple and very effective, hassle free, beautiful vapes, mother's milk by suicide bunny and Isle of custard juices work perfect in both and are the best juices I've tried in 5 years.

Sometimes the simple information is the best..

I've been vaping for nearly 2 years, have tried over a dozen different tanks and have never had any significant leaking problems. IClear 30, iClear 30S, Kanger T3, Kanger Protank, Kanger Aerotank, Aspire Nautilus, Kayfuns, and on and on. Not one leaked.

Which leads me to believe that maybe you're doing something that is causing the leaking. Overfilling the tanks perhaps? Cross threading them? Screwing them together too tight and stripping the threads?

Where are they leaking from?

I see this all the time, so it doesn't come as a surprise to me. "I hate this clearo tank, so let me try a different clearo tank hoping for different results".

Simply solution, try something besides a clearo tank! There really are alternatives.
Just because someone else likes their clearo tank, doesn't mean that you will.

I have no leaking with my REO Grand. Check them out. Ive had over 30 mods and this is the only one I have left. They're that good. Trust me. Talk about hassle free, low maintenance vaping at it's best.

Great mech mod with the sub ohm kit for sure..

A common problem people will start seeing this time of year is a leak from when they go from inside to outside. If you go into an environment that is very hot (comparative to where you just where) the liquid inside the tank will build pressure and it will find a way out. Only way around that I've found is to loosen the base of the tank just a bit as you're going outside, give it 30 secs and continue on. Other issues can be to high PG content making it thinner, over tightening (which damages the o-ring) and I'm sure other stuff I don't remember because I havn't used a tank system in about a year. I actually went to dripping mainly to avoid those kinda issues, can't leak if there's no liquid to run out. Best of luck to ya.

Much depends on where the leaking occurs. If it is a couple of drops on the 510 pin it is normal. Especially when the tank gets down to one third full. Refill when the liquid is at or just below the top of the atomizer housing. Allowing the liquid to get lower changes the pressure inside the glass which will result in leaking. When replacing the coil it should be snug. Girl thumb and index finger snug is sufficient. Over tightening will cause the gasket to compress which will result in leaks.

Be sure the clean the "hole" in the base with a q-tip or paper towel when the coil is changed as liquid can accumulate in the "well"

Check everything for a stray piece of lint or hair as these will interfere with the vacuum resulting in leaking.

Clean any drops of liquid that are on the 510 pin of the battery with a q-tip when refilling.

Clean the 510 pin with a small amount (not enough to run) of vodka or alcohol on the pin and threads of the battery every time the clearo is thoroughly washed, rinsed and dried.

I have used several of the devices mentioned. Liquids range from 50/50 to 70pg/30vg. Currently using a GS Air. The only leaking I have experienced is when I vape them down to the wicking holes that are on the side of the coil housing. By allowing the liquid to get that low It is guaranteed to happen.

I know what you mean. I used simple cheap clearomizers and the darned thinks leaked all the time. I did notice though that the liquids I used had nic levels in them. I used 0 nic and the things stopped leaking. I am now using a Nautilus mini and an eleaf mini and am actually happy. (Not happy being tied to a USB but happy when I do vape.)

skullblade, nic levels have nothing to do with leaking :). Your leaking stopped for other reasons, it just happened that you switched to no-nic juice at the same time as the leaking stopped.
