What kind of environment were they stored in? High temps, damp, extreme cold? That may effect the life span. But other than that as long as there is nothing wrong with the wraps and positive protector ring they should be fine.

Only way to find out is to charge them and use them. See how long they last on a charge compared to when they were new. Also make sure they charge to 4.2 volts.

Just know that all batteries begin to gradually degrade over time from the time they were new, whether they were being used or kept in storage. They lose their mAh and amp rating. Mah rating determines how long they will run per charge. Amp rating determines how much power (watts) the battery has.

Hi Nathan,
They should be fine.
Any problems should appear quickly.
Not charging completely, poor life in use or excess heat will be easy to spot.
Re wrap any cells with damaged covers.

Nice to see you around. Best of luck

Happy new year to you and yours.

Happy new year mate

Good luck! And if the future, make sure to store your batteries at 50% charge or so. That's what manufacturers recommend. It might require topping them off occasionally.

If it's depleted below working level, some chargers may be able to recondition it, but I'd watch out where/how I charged them in that case.

Do you have a Multi-Meter? Can you get a voltage reading before charging?

Do not boost lithium-based batteries back to life that have dwelled below 1.5V/cell for a week or longer. Copper shunts may have formed inside the cells that can lead to a partial or total electrical short. When recharging, such a cell might become unstable, causing excessive heat or show other anomalies. The Cadex “boost” function halts the charge if the voltage does not rise normally.
