joyetech Twists do not go to 1100 mAh (AFAIK). Please don't take this the wrong way, but perhaps you got a
knock-off Twist and the battery life might be less-than because it's not genuine? Not meaning to call you out in the least, just saying.

Oh-oh battery flame war coming! lol Well, you have the camp that asks "Where can I get the cheapest possible price on a real eGo battery?" And they usually mean they want a joyetech, but don't want to pay a Joyetech price for it.

I saw two posts regarding FT purchases in the last week:

A WTH!? moment with a 1000 mAh Twist... lasting about two hours. The person opened it up and there was a humongous... 380 mAh cell inside it.

"Why is my battery making weird buzzing noises? And it's not working either!" That was another FT eGo battery, 10 days old...

Two "cheap" purchases that had to be replaced in less than two weeks. Do an RMA with FT, pay the mailing costs, wait, order another one in the mean time...

You buy the cheapest possible whatever you can find, you takes your chances. Thass all.

It doesn't mean 100 mAh of battery capacity is equivalent to one solid hour of non stop hold that button down and fog the dance floor vaping. (Try that with a mini cigalike battery and see how long that lasts...) It means every 100 mAh of battery capacity is equivalent to one hour's practical use while vaping, average.
This.

This is a subjective question. A 1000 mAh battery will last a different amount of time for someone using 1.5ohm cartos on a mech than someone using 3.0ohm on a mech. Add VV/VW to the mix and the numbers skew even more.

I can kill an 800mAh battery in a couple hours of chain vaping at 1ohm.

I don't think a new vaper who can't comprehend mAh or wants to know how many ml equals a cigarette would have a good experience vaping at 1.0Ω...

They should definitely be vaping sub-ohm.

I'm trying to get my facts straight.

I believe I was told a long while back that 100 mAh equals (in e-cigs) 1 hour of constant vape time. So a 1000 mAh battery is equivalent to sitting there and vaping nonstop for 10 hours before the battery will die.

I completely understand these are averages and there are external variables involved, but is this statement inaccurate or incorrect? When someone asks me, "How long will this last me?" and I say, "Ten hours of sitting there puffing on it non-stop" (picking it up and setting it down as you go throughout the day extends the life), is this accurate?

Thoughts?

(This is assuming someone keeps their VV device at 4.0 volts the whole time.)

I think that it's accurate enough for a newbie with an ego and a clearo. The variables are probably not going to apply to them. As they get more experience with vaping, they can figure it out for themselves.

Vaping is hard. It takes discipline, determination, and planning ahead. You need at least two of everything in the setup, because electronics and mechanical devices fail. People have a hard time understanding why you need more than one battery and one delivery device. What if that battery dies? Or that one clearomizer bites the dust?

Keep at least a week's worth of juice on hand at all times, because it can take a week to order and receive it by mail. Keep on a plan and stick to it. Don't let spent batteries just lay around, get them back into the charger. No charged batteries - no vaping. No working "toppers" - no vaping. No juice - no vaping. It's not THAT hard to understand.

I have a coworker that I gave a simple setup on loan so he could try it out without having to buy a crappy device from a gas station. Nothing fancy- 650 ego, evod, charger and 30ml of liquid. IMHO a decent "test" setup if you will.
I explained the setup- how to operate, charge, clean and fill, and also have him links to ECF and various suppliers so he could purchase what he wanted when the time came. That was 2 months ago.
First, he didn't like the liquid. "Okay" I said and gave him another 15ml.
Then, he thought it wasn't strong enough. "Okay" I said and gave him 10ml of something stronger.
Then, he thought the PG / VG ratio was wrong for him. "Okay" I said and mixed him 3 different 10ml ratios and flavors. My rationale this whole time being that he has needed to try a few different liquids and I can understand that this can be one of the most frustrating parts of starting.
THEN, he tells me that it all tastes like crap and he thinks something is wrong. "Let me see" I said. I proceeded to dismantle the head to find the coil was almost a solid chunk of burnt liquid. (I explained cleaning this too, btw).... "Okay" I said and put in a replacement head. While I was at it, I cleaned out the liquid that was pooled up in the battery threads and explained again that this needs to be done regularly of the battery was to survive.
THEN, he tells me that he is out of liquid but didn't really like what I gave him anyways, so "what else can you make me" and "oh, by the way I think I need another one of those head thingies".....
Turns out he never visited ECF, never even looked online for his own setup, and didn't really think he needed to, since he figured I was so "pro vaping" that I would do whatever it took to keep HIM off cigs.

I told him to keep the hardware and I bought him a pack of cigs the next day on my way to work.
In summation- vaping...... It's not for everyone.
