Hey guys.

Just got my first mod today. It's the Sigelei Zmax v3 Telescope. I'm using a Kanger Protank. I hear that some tanks, carto, and/or attys don't do too well with very thick juice. And I'm wondering if the protank has any issues with 100% VG juices.

Thanks!
Mine doesnt seem to wick at all with 100%vg. I get nothing but burning metal. I may try to take a wick out if I can figure out how to get it out before I toss it. No reason to struggle with poor flavor and bad aluminum taste and a cold metal mouthpiece and leaking when I have delivery systems that work.

You can always send your unwanted Protanks to the isle of misfit Clero's. Also known as my house. :)

I currently have 6 ProTanks and use only 100% VG liquid (some of which are pretty thick). I was using the heads that came with it at first and removed half a wick as others have said and was relatively pleased with it. It had a slightly muted flavor, but no issues to speak of. I did make sure to rinse the heads and do a dry burn after every couple of refills. Having said that, I recently got some EVOD 1.8 ohm heads and it made a big difference. Slightly tighter draw, a little more heat (at least in the mech/mod), and more flavor. I didn't even find the need to remove any wicks, although I may try it as an experiment.

Yes, it's a well discussed topic in other threads. It was a nice improvement for me. If you have a VV/VW device the 1.8 ohm head may not matter, but if you have a mech/mod or standard battery set up get the 1.8 ohm over the 2.5 ohm. IMHO.

yeah, used to read every ECF thread everyday. been vaping 3+ years now, I'm lucky if i spend an hour on here a week. thanks for the tip, i will deff pick up an evod head next time i need supplies. are they easier to recoil than the protank head or about the same?

Another option I heard is taking off the silicone cup entirely. It may work.

I've read it also but I can't remember where. Any way, I tried it and after 24 hours my tank flooded. I knew that the seal was there to stop the liquid from getting into the mouth piece. But I did it anyway. Removing the cup seal gave a better flavor so it obviously restricts the wicks. I turned mine upside down when I added them again and the flavor is just as good as I was getting when they were removed. But I don't have to worry about flooding now. :)
