NNP is Panasonic battery technology, Nickel based New Platform. Higher capacity than cobalt based, nominally the same zone of safety.

PSS is the other new Panasonic technology, nominally similar safety to IMR, but higher capacity (close to cobalt).

I was under the impression that AW used this base as well upon their most recent upgrades? Their IMR and Ps recently got a good boost...

AW is not an actual battery manufacturer, they use panasonic cells (no idea if they use cells from anyone else too)

Interesting...so would this mean that the Panasonic versions with the same ratings may be the same? Super-T's test of some of the 16850 Panasonics indicate they perform very similar to the IMR/Protected AWs, respectively.
