I'm replying out of curiosity more than experience. However, any 14650 mod running, more or less, off of the battery should give about the same performance. The ePower (at least used to have) different switches available... at least one was PWM regulated so not 100% battery voltage. So that may be a "boost" (the full voltage all mechanical).

What do you consider an "upgrade" in this category? Bling?

The LTs and such take 18xxx batteries (IMR usually), so that doesn't seem to fit.

Other things to try may be switch upgrades for more amps and DCCs for example, with IMR batteries. Anyone know the amp limits on the ePower?

Anyway.... kinda looking for feedback to see what type of upgrade you are looking for.

However, I'd look at features rather than matching $5.00 batteries. :2c:

I pointed out the Meko because of it's absolute never fail simplicity. A 3.7v all mechanical mod that you can use any head you can imagine on, simply by changing out the connector in the top cap.
(510/801 connector, you can also get a 901/808 connector)

    (510/ego connector in end cap)

Right now I have a vision ego on it (no adaptor necessary)

I also have a second tube (Midi) so that I can use 14500 bats if I wish.

I bought an epower 14650 &18650 to see how comfortable they were to use on the go. (Was hoping for longer battery life than my ego batteries) The 18650 was just too big & felt like I was carrying a beer with me everywhere. I am much more comfortable with the 14650, but it really is not the best esthetically. I posted the question hoping for a more attractive mod, but would appreciate any advise on smaller long lasting mods. Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the clarification.

IDK though. Unless you want to check out dual (stacked) battery mods. For example, I use a 2x 14500 box mod (vv box from MadVapes). However, it would probably weight in like an 18650 Beer-Can weight bicep builder that you're not interested in.

The thing is that they can only pack so many electrons per square cc of battery electrolyte. So... unless battery tech improves (and BOY am I waiting for cig-sized practical batteries) there's only so much you can do about the battery size/duration thing.

Couple of things you can do:
    1) The higher the ohms of the atty/carto the longer the battery will last (but cooler/less volume the vape is).
    2) Keep it small, but carry a good stack of battery "swaps" with you. It usually only takes a few seconds to swap out a battery, and they are $5.00 - $10.00. Remember that, unlike many here on ECF, there are A LOT of e-cigs users that have stayed with the super-mini (cig sized) batteries and have used them for years. They just have a lot of them charged up! lol. I usually carry 4 or 6 batteries with me... using 2 at a time. (2 or 3 sets). There are some mods even smaller that take a 14500 (15 mm shorter) battery.

I like the swappable battery mods myself, however, many like the eGo/Riva/Twist units that are around 1000 mAh. Functionally, they are similar. More $$ per battery compared to the cells you're using though...so I'd get the Twist vv unit (about the same $$ as non-vv) and just bite the bullet and get 2 or 3 so you can swap em.

Most mods are larger. There are other 14650 mods... but I can't really recommend one over another... particularly since you're swapping out an ePower and that's one that is commonly recommended. The eGo Twist units, for example, are aesthetically pleasing as are many of the other Fat-Bat e-cigs. There are tube mods that are hand made with quality finishes... but I can't say much not having used them. Some have bottom buttons that you press with a pinky finger and are all mechanical. Check on the vents for them...make sure what you select is well vented.

There are also discussions about "modding" e-cigs and using "wraps" to color them and/or "bling" them. I think the modder's section has an area for that and they use everything from "nail stickers?" to wraps to paint.

Let's both hope for better battery tech in the very near future. Then we can all have a "5 volt super mini e-cig" that lasts at least 1/2 a day. (Fingers crossed).

Yeah tj, but that's an IMR. Good for high amps, but not good for max-mah. Depends on what the OP is doing...IMO. Protected regular Li-Ion would have more mAh if amps not needed.

In general I agree, however that 950mAh 14650 IMR has the same mAh rating printed on the bat as a 14500 flame, but will out last them almost two to one.
