OH! OH! OH! My shiny shipped today! It's on its wayyyyy!:banana::banana:
5 days until it hits the US, 2-3 days to get out of customs (I would assume that it would be SF customs it would go through) and then however many days it takes the USPS to get to you, you should get it in about 2 to 2-1/2 weeks.

If it comes from the west, it only takes one or two days to get here. Coming from the east, it takes a week. I don't know why, but that's how it's been with every single thing we've ever ordered and had shipped. So maybe it will be here even sooner! :D

Oh, and I guess I'll have to think about doing my nails again... argh... maybe no hand check this time. All but two or three of my nails have been bashed and broken in the last few months. Cold weather is bad, because my hands and fingers get numb, and I tend to "run into" stuff, and then I end up shattering a frozen nail. Or maybe I could be like MOST normal people and just have them short!

I wanna move in with Karen! We just got above zero a few minutes ago, and the windchill they SAY is 25 below, but it feels colder than that. More snow in the forecast for tonight, too, not that we need any more.

It was so cold in the barn this morning that the injection I was going to give to Cricket froze inside the needle, and the syringe popped off and it went all over the outside of her shoulder. The first dose went inside Rich's pocket, when he bent over to put his boots on, and squished the plunger up. I went back and reloaded it and decided to carry it in my bare hand to the barn to keep it warm, but I didn't have my hand over the needle part. Then I couldn't get the damned needle through her thick hide, and I had to stab her multiple times before I got it through, and if it hadn't already been frozen by then, it surely was after all the dancing around she did and me looking for thinner skin. Plus I got nailed by a kick about 2 inches above my left kneecap. Thank God she didn't hit me in the kneecap! As it is, the muscle right above my knee is swelling to the size of an orange. It hasn't started to color yet, but it's gonna be a nasty bruise by tonight or tomorrow.

In other words, just another normal day here at Love Acres.
Aww you poor thing....one of those days huh?

Ok peps, I am slowly losing my happy demeanor. Jane informed me as she came to lay down for a nap with me that they have upped the snow totals for this storm were supposed to get this weekend. Jojo, you and I are gonna get buried, its awful early for our southern snow storm. And I am gonna miss the truck badly now

Yeah, and I have to do it all again tomorrow. Ima try NOT to get kicked, though. But I need to give her that hormone shot, because I need to synch her heat time and it SHOULD have been done today. One day late should still be OK, I think. I didn't want to try again today because of the effing below zero cold first of all, plus she's giving me the hairy eyeball and keeping her distance right now. Tomorrow it's supposed to be warmer, and she'll have forgotten about it by then. Until I stick another needle in her...

How cold is it where you are, Chad? Will it be wet, heavy snow? Or light, dry snow?

Lannie, it is about 9 degrees at the house, and as far as wet or dry, I have a feeling it will be a heavy wet snow, the front is coming from the south, drawing in some of that moisture with it, so those do suck.

Not even liking the fact that tonight is gonna be frigid at work. Hopefully we wont lose any water lines like we did last year. We actually froze about 10 pipes inside the building on night, that was a mess
Damn!

Yeppers. Just checked when I read that and we're estimated 4-8 inches on Friday and another inch Saturday night.

Bull hokey.

When does spring start again?

Oh, ugh, TWO FEET? But if it's only 9 degrees, it should be the light dry stuff. Unless the storm's bringing warm air up with it. Oh, and I could be totally full of it, also. I'm sitting out here in the middle of the country with no water anywhere within a thousand miles, so the weather and the wet/dry of the snow is completely different than it is near the coasts. I guess you could still get wet snow at 9 degrees (or less). Rich would know. He's the weather guy.

Hunker down, make sure you have some water stashed, and all your batteries are charged. I'll cross my fingers for you!

See that's why I like my house. The grid I'm on doesn't go down much and when it does it's back up fast. It's one of the first ones they fix. And we has generators, hurray welders.

But yes, even though it may be 9 degrees, we could still get heavy wet snow. Because the storm is headed north, it could pick up extra moisture from the south and drop it on us. Plus we have enough water around us it's kinda a moot point as well.

I'm not betting on 4-8 here though... The weather man has been wrong almost every time in the past year. My prediction is we might get 2 or we might get a foot. Either way, I gotta go to work...
