Yep. Dad got caught in the NOB/Oceana loop for awhile. Lived in Norfolk to start, moved to a better apartment still in Norfolk, then a whole 11 miles away to VA Beach!SAME! When we came back from Germany the second time we ended up back in Michigan in the house next door to the one we left 3 years earlier, lol! With the same neighbors!
Being honest, I grew up in Long Beach, CA, just on the south side of the LA river. If you crossed the bridge you were in Compton. I'm not saying Detroit is soft, but it's got nothing on my old stomping grounds. A Crip hood with Bloods to the north.LOL! My sister in law grew up on 8 mile! Apparently it isn't as bad as Eminem made it out to be, either. At least on the 1/4 mile or so she lived on.
SEEE??? We really ARE sistahs!!! My dad has 5 siblings, 3 of whom are still in Mankato or the surrounding area (and one in Aiken) and my grandma had 10 siblings. The place is crawling with my kin, lol!

That's like my response to people where I live now telling me that Waldorf is a bad area. Or this one section of the Park.
