The negative lead goes through a little hole in the coil body, and is secured by a screw. The positive lead goes down the bottom of the coil, through a rubber grommet, and is secured by the positive pin. I have never had this problem with Ni coils in the Atlantis-style coils though (that also has the rubber grommet and bottom pin. This did happen with the Kanger Subtank coils though, and this is why I stopped using Kanger Subtanks.
that is most likely the culprit then, that positive leg. Try building a SS coil at higher resistance.....the higher resistance should keep the whole thing more steady....remember the mod looks for percentage of change in resistance to measure....so .01 fluctuation on a .1 coil, is a LOT more then .1 on a .4 ohm coil.

Think I've finally got my tax returns nailed down. My previous estimate showing that I owe close to 20k was because the software had a bug in it where it was not giving me the AMT exemption. They put out a software update that has fixed this and now it looks like I'm getting close to $2,700 back from state, but owe about $1,000 to federal. If it wasn't for the damn AMT, I would be getting $4,000 back from federal.

The higher inherent resistance of SS will also help in winding a small coil too. Since I can't put too many winds in the coil, I'm stuck using 28 gauge Ni wire. Although my experience with SS316 for TC is iffy. It seems to work well for a day or two then the vape seems to get very weak (vapor production drops off tremendously and it seems to hit temp protection as soon as you hit the fire button). When this happens I switch over to vape using power mode and treat the SS coil as if it was a simple kanthal coil and vapor production comes back. If I vape the SS coil in power mode for half a day to a day, then I can switch it back in TC mode and it will work fine again.

still a far cry from owing 20K ;)

sounds like you need to tweak your TCR settings for the SS....the TCR on SS varies WIDELY from not just vendor to vendor, but batch to batch some too...

What killed us is that my wife worked 4 different jobs last year. That plus we're not claiming my daughter as a dependent anymore. What she would lose in higher taxes if we claimed her as a dependent would be larger than what we lost by not claiming her so we're cutting the umbilical cord.

This is the factory SS coils for the Cubis, and on the mod from the same vendor (Cuboid), so you would think that they would have the SS settings correct.

you would think....but they have no controll over the SS wire they get...each batch is going to be a bit different. The only times I have gotten an anemic vape from SS on temp controll, adjusting the tcr completely fixed the issue.

do they not realize that at .05....an ohm meter off by .02 (almost all of them are off by about that much one way or the other, unless you can afford really nice ones) means BIG TROUBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can I come to your shop and beach slap some idjuts around a bit?
That's basically a dead short!
And please feel free to Gibbs Smack the :censored: out of em!

Please. Not that particular idjit but a different one does cloud comps. He made a build at home that read out at .01. The reader at the shop read it at 0.00. He used it anyways for the comp.

He ended up winning, however melted the wiring in his unreg'd box from how hot the battery got just during his turn and it ended up venting right after he got it out. And that was a Sony. :nah:
the humor about that is? I can build a 1 ohm coil on a regulated that would make their .05 look like a fire cracker next to an a bomb.....idiots need to wake up and realize that super sub ohm is not needed, unsafe, and not even as pleasant a vape in most cases (nickel wire excluded...it is the exception)
I know. They mess with me consistently about girls can't handle big builds. I handed cloud comp boy my mod one day towards the beginning of my employment after they said something like that and told him to try it. Didn't tell him it was a Sig30 with Lemo2 at like 25W with a 1.1ohm 28/32 Clapton wire and 12mg. After he finished coughing up a lung, I simply said "what? Can't handle a real girl's build?" Even the manager hopped off my nuts for awhile after that one.

Unfortunately, my nic tolerance has dropped tremendously and I run mechs now, so I'm a target again... :sneaky:

Dude... thousand back instead of four is still WAAAY better than owing twenty!

And on that note....have you tried SS430 wire yet? it has a higher TCR curve then the other grades of SS, making it a better temp control choice, on mods with settable tcr's
The only SS wire I currently have is SS316. And FWIW, I still love this Cubis RBA. With the wick holes on the side as well as the bottom of the coil, it wicks so much better. I've got the Ni coil cranking at 60 watts and it's throwing out a nice little cloud.

Oh, I do, but my clouds don't hold a candle to them. I'm running everything from .6 and lower at the moment on several different set ups including a .12 twisted parallel, but these guys can fog out the whole shop in about five good rips. On their own, individually. I'll have to take a video one day of them being dumb...

We don't have a child to claim, either.

You gotta set up some inconspicuous fans around the place to mess with their cloud makin :D
