You make it to TX ever, I'll cook for you...lol...I do a killer shrimp with basil cream sauce...and home made focaccia bread!

I will absolutely take you up on that!!

And the same offer is open to you if you ever make your way to Florida! (I picked up a few things in nana's kitchen :)

One year for Mothers day Hubby bought me a Marcto pasta press.

When I met hubby he had been raised on processed foods, hamburger helper, frozen dinners etc... his mom just never really enjoyed cooking.
I was raised with my parents ..(my dad was a head chef for a time and my mom, although not a chef was a excellent cook)
(not to mention Nana!)

I should have played dumb and never let him know of all of the foods that could be made from scratch, Now that is the expectation.

Lmaoooo...hubby was raised on plain meat and taters, and the meat was always cooked to well done...occasionally spaghetti, although that considered " pretty exotic"...I had fun the first few years feeding this poor man.

And now all of my coils are cleaned ( only popped one).... And over watched 4 videos on rebuilding a Kanger subohm coil (looks like I can just buy the precoiled wires on FT in a 1.2 ohm....lol...) so i have an idea of what im doing when my new subtank mini gets here...and have managed to update any active contest posts. Now time to start dinner, I guess.

Maybe im a little different. My nana was the queen of the pa dutch kitchen. My diet growing up, and well later on while I lived with her was food like you would get in amish kitchen.
my grandma cooked basic meat and taters meals. I ended cooking a lot growing up because my mom worked 3-11's. A lot of casseroles thrown in the oven when I got home from school. But, after I taught myself to cook other stuff, there was no stopping me!! Ex was the pickiest eater I ever met, so I'd wait for him to go on road trips for away games, then I'd bring out the good stuff for me and Kidlet! We had FUN!!! Lmaoooooo

Lmaoooo...need some more juice!!! Lol...getting some samples with the pack thats coming, I just said surprise me, but no tobacco and no menthol. Lakeshore carries a LOT of juice.... Lol...so I only know one flavor I'm getting, a cherry lime mix that I'm already excited to try. And I asked for 3 or 6 mg, cause I don't have any of that at all. I'm gonna have to order anotherr bottlesf my Berry Bomb, and in a lower nic, too.

That is really funny!!

Same similar story here as far as him always eating to well done on the rare times she did make meat,
You will appreciate this other story....... I have a friend who was having her family over for Christmas.. She wanted to do a standing rib roast. Many of us gave her recipes.....None of which she was happy with since she wanted it WELL DONE.
She insisted that her family only liked their red meat well done. (Really? have they ever tried it cooked less than shoe leather?)
To which we all said .. then save your money and do not spend it on rib roast only to ruin it!!

We have a really nice Amish retaurant near here. Really excellent food!!
My only problem with the restaurant is that they do not serve wine or beer LOL!!

Jode, i too missed your post about your daughter being discriminated against :( I am so sorry your daughter was treated that way. It bothers me about people treating others without compassion, respect, and equally. In the world we live in today, discrimination should only be a thing of the past.

Jseah, my uncle is friends with the owners of Forlini's..(no chinese food there!) But the best artichoke I have ever eaten!
Along with just about everything else on their menu.

Katz's deli has amazing food too but their staff is one of the rudest I have ever encountered.. Well at least their waitress.

Redrebel.. above you said you cook Italian.. My Aunt (mothers sister) married my uncle who is Italian. When I was little his mother (nana) babysat me. Some of my best memories are being at her house.

Her kitchen was always filled with smells of sauces simmering and fresh pastas. Homemade breads. It seemed like she spent her entire day in the kitchen cooking. It spoiled me! Store bought dried pasta ...... meh... I will use them but fresh is better.
Jar sauce .. I would rather starve.
Never tried Forlini's before. Katz's Deli is ok, great pastrami, but it gets way too crowded with tourists because of When Harry Met Sally. My sister's husband is Italian (although he looks Irish), so she learned how to make sauce from scratch. I unfortunately, don't have the patience to make my own sauce, so I stick with jar. From time to time I do make a pseudo homemade sauce from olive oil, sauteed garlic with diced tomatoes and spices.

If you can handle the open draw of the sub tank.... You are going to be spoiled by the flavor :D
