That's the difference...all my family, my mom, dad, my only brother, grandparents etc have all passed away. You're lucky to still have yours. :)
I'm sorry...

I'm actually not that close to my family. My mom lives down in VA and I haven't spoken to my father in years. When he gets rid of the overbloated she tick and starts treating me as well as he does her devil spawn instead of like the poo on his shoe, I'll reconsider.

SO's family is here though. His immediate family members all live within 15 miles of us and his step brother is 45 minutes out. (Although that child is not fit to babysit a goldfish!)

I'm rolling over here...and I shouldn't be, but that just cracked me the hell up!

I'm sorry. I have 2 sisters still living, but have no contact...one is by my choice, because she's a drunken, lying thief, the other one cut off ties with the whole family after she had a fight with my mother and the drunk almost 20 years ago.

Can't say Nala has ever gotten ahold of something that couldn't be replaced but she did make some chewy messes as a pup.

First day I had her I didn't have a crate yet and had to go to work for eight hours. Locked her out of the bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen. Came home to the destruction of - my expensive boots, my high heels, my good sandals, my flip flops, my mowing sneakers, my Bluetooth, his PS3 Bluetooth, the tv remote, the DirecTV remote, a chewed sofa leg and she was actively chewing the cables behind the tv when I walked through the door! Year old my ....! The shelter lied, my vet said she was no more than 5-6 months hence the chewing.

Once she was about a year old, she stopped destroying things (except soft toys) and started stealing and eating. I would constantly find my socks and scrunchies in the backyard land mines. She's five now. If she feels lonely cuz we're at work or something, I'll come home to find all the socks from the laundry basket in her bed. She cuddles with them!

I do feel sorry for my mom though. Panzer is a 3yr old known sock and underwear thief. You can't leave them anywhere he can get hold of them. He'll even steal em straight out of the dryer if you give him the chance! Mom was doing laundry one day and he stole a pair of undies from her hand, breaking her finger in the door in the process and ran away. She chased and had to cram her fingers down his throat to retrieve them.
Yikes! I haven't had a dog break a bone yet, but if it's gonna happen it will be with Homer. likes to snatch and run, too! Your poor mom. sheesh. :)

:nah: Fixed like an election.

Apparently the surgery in February got billed as dental not medical and the insurance is saying it wasn't preapproved anyways. The dentist's office was supposed to take care of all that to start with. Then the hospital the surgery took place at billed the anesthesiologist separate and that one went through first but they applied our payment that covered the yearly deductible on the larger second bill. So the insurance says we haven't paid our deductible even though we have which is causing two more bills to fail payment. Plus the office staff failed to submit the pre and post op visits correctly so the insurance is saying they won't cover those either. Those were all the xrays and MRIs!

I've already told the hospital flat out, they can sic the collectors on us all they want, we don't answer the phones most of the time anyways. Nobody is getting paid until the insurance gets all worked out and that will be whenever it all gets filed correctly.
Good for you! This is happening everywhere. I know our billing and coding department is in a frenzy right now because of the switchover to ICD10, the codes they bill procedures from. It's incredibly difficult to switch over from, ICD 9 but the entire rest of the free world did so years ago. The US is the last country to make the change. It's ridiculous. We are rated in the lower part of healthcare worldwide. I think we are like 43rd out of 50 or something like that. I'm glad we are making strides to try and fix it, but in the meantime it is almost unusable!! I worked in Medical Records and I don't even get it. I just hope we can use this huge fail as a jumping off point and REALLY fix it (like an election, LOL!!!) very soon. Makes me want to move to Canada sometimes. argh.

Max is still partial to pillows, just one corner
Suzie was all about my daughter's flip flops, lol. I can't even count how many she ate! I even asked the clerk in the pet food isle where his flip flop flavored dog treats were because they were my Lab's favorite flavor. :D

I have to say, y'all's stories are making me thankful I have cats! Lol I have dogs but they're all outside. :)
Homer was outside earlier. Then he came barreling in with half the backyard stuck to his paws!!! Apparently he was digging him a mud hole. His feet and face are just caked with it. sigh. :)

It was mostly bad luck. Panzer is a hundred-ish pound hyperactive Dobie. Her finger was in between the open dryer door and actual door to the laundry room. When he jerked, it was in the one direction that her finger got jammed instead of slipping out.

Fortunately it wasn't a bad break. Couple weeks in a splint and she's good as new now.

That's the worst! You can't get mad at them when they screw up because they are anxious. :(
He can't be too far away from Mama. Jim said he was kind of nuts when I went to Cali for graduation.
