Yay!!!! all his hard work paid off.
The funny part is, I didn't win until I tried reverse psychology and said I did not want one, then stopped posting so much. Of course I wanted one, but somehow it just seemed like I was playing "gimme gimme" with the rest of the crowd, so I backed off. Then I won. Strange how that works...

Anyhoo, John, Thor's Hammer got a new tank: nautilus, holds 5+ ml of juice, and at 17W is real tasty. Maybe one of these days I will work my way up to that sub-Ohm business (Lannie has long since passed my tootling). Her DIY scotchcake (butterscotch and cupcakes) is really yummy in this.

You're more adventurous than I. When I was vaping on the Nautilus Mini, I vaped it around 11 watts. Going above 15 watts was just too warm for me. I should send you some extra coils for it. I still have a bunch of Nautilus coils in both kanthal and nickel (for temp control). I pop them in the mail to you in the next few days.

Far out! The full-size Nautilus coil is BVC 1.8 Ohm (isn't that the same one the mini uses?), but the on-board VOM in the SXmini is reading it at 1.70 Ohms, and my calculations imply it won't burn until I exceed 19W (or if I hold the fire button too long, and generally I do that for 4 seconds or less). Getting nickel coils (finally) will tempt me toward TC, which I have not tried yet. Thank you very much, sir.

15W was too warm for you? I have been wanting to invent a tank heater because I have discovered I get more flavor when the juice in the tank is warmer. The only way to do that at the moment seems to be to chain vape. The more often the coil fires (in quick succession), the more the juice in the tank gets heated, then the flavor blossoms. I thought maybe this was just me, but Lannie seems to have discovered this too.

I tend to chain vape and take pretty long hits, so that was never a problem for me. With the Nautilus, above 15 watts, it would start to taste a little burnt.

As for the coils, I have half a package of the 1.8 ohm and a package of the 1.6 ohm coils. I need to dig around to find the nickel coils.

Weird... I wonder if that was tank size or specific to the particular juice or... ? When I start with a brand new coil, I typically start at 10W, but as it gets dirtier, I up the heat. I'm getting 3-4 weeks per coil before it gets so clogged I have to change it, then I reset to 10W again (SXmini "standard").

Do you still have our address, or shall I PM that?

I should still have it in the old PM's, but you can send it to me anyways. You should learn to rebuild those Nautilus coils. I've been rebuilding the Atlantis coils (same thing except bigger) so I never have to buy another coil again.

PM sent. Lannie and I have been discussing building coils and stuffing wicks, etc. She's having no problem with rewicking her sub-Ohm coils (rayon) and seems to be doing OK with this Lemo thing she just got, but these tiny BHC (we're not using 2.5 anymore, but 1.8 or 1.5) and BVC things have us both baffled. The problem we both face is very arthritic hands. I have been looking for tool kits, mini vise, etc. that will help us do that.

I got my titanium wire yesterday! I will probably try my hand on the Phazer first because it's so big and probably easier, but I will also try an Atlantis coil. Of course now I have my eye (both of them, actually!!) on that Apex 2, and Innokin is putting out a dual Clapton coil for that one. Gaaaah I will not be able to resist that one for sure! I don't see myself rebuilding something like that, though. Or the ceramic cCoil, lol. :D

I chain vape too. I enjoyed my nautilus, but I would get burnt hits from chain vaping....lol I am bad about chain vaping and not knowing im doing it!
