16340 BATTERY IMR or Protected (CR123A) lithium-ion

Hi Veterans,


I'm getting an orion v1 and I am unsure which kind of battery to get, 16340 BATTERY IMR or Protected (CR123A) lithium-ion.
I maybe wrong but according to my research on the forum, the IMR will last longer than protected but the protected is safer? I am just so confused which one to get. Please kindly suggest, thank you !!

You have it backwards. The IMRs are safe chemistry batteries. Safer than protected. That is all I use anymore.

Also, please make sure to get the IMR cell (Li-Mn) from a genuine distributor of for example AW batteries.

There is no such thing as a cheap AW battery. All AW batteries on Alibaba are counterfeit.

There is no such thing as a cheap, safe battery.
