18650 vs 2070 battery on pulse 80w

Hi
I just got my 1st squonk mod pulse 80w
and I have quite a lot 18650 battery,Ive been thinkin to bought 2070 but I have more than enough 18650 battery to vape for a day or even two
I know 2070 will last longer than 18650 and I solve that with carrying spare 18650
my main concern is
if I use 35-40watts with 18650 will it be same if I'm using 2070?
my set up mostly common single coil,I never liked the fancy coil and all that jazz
lately entheon with ni80 3.5mm 6 wraps,sometimes SS316L with the same build,mostly I run at 35-40 watts

so is it 2070 vs 18650 really make a difference in terms of power?

Thanks :)

It depends on which 21700/20700 you get, like 18650s they vary in performance. But generally yes you will get more run time and access to higher power levels if you want. I will post a link to Mooch's 2x700 testing below, but if you are happy with your current cells there is no real reason to buy new ones.

Thanks you def gonna check the link

Depends on which name brand & model number cells you're asking about.

18650 / 20700 are sizes that say nothing about capabilities or even if they're suitable for vaping use.
I have a pair of sony vtc 4 and a pair of MXJO the yellow color one's
so basicly it's better to use good 18650 rather than mediocre 2070?

With a 20700 battery you potentially could get longer run time out of one cell than an 18650, but that all depends on which battery it is.

If you like your 18650s, and it works for you, then don't worry about the 20700 battery. If you are not happy with the run time between battery swaps, then looking into a 20700 may be a good idea as they have the potential to have more MaH than an 18650 while still maintaining a decent amp rating.

Overall, probably yes (if you get a good 20700 battery) but like others, I'm not sure if it's necessary. If you are doing fine with what you have, I see no reason to add more weight and etc., to your setup. I don't think I'd ever use more than a single 20700 battery and even then, probably in a mech I have that's designed for it, just to have a bit more capacity (but I am a MTL vaper).

Tradeoff is weight/size vs increased capacity and etc.

I really enjoyed the pulse 80w but I just worried about missing something from this mod if Im using 18650 do I really got the exactly same wattage as with 2070

Im fine with durability I bring spare battery and if one not enough I still have 2 pairs 18650

Yeah I guess you're right I think Im gonna stick with 18650

I don't have any mods with dedicated 2070 its kinda waste to buy 2070 and they not cheap either.

Thanks for all the asnwer,I really appreciate it
Have a good steam! :)

I have a Pulse 80W also. I use mine in temperature control and I run either a Pulse 24 or a Nudge 24. Both are built using 26awg SS316L 3mm ID dual coils.

I also have a fleet of 18650 cells including 25R, HE2, HE4 and 30T.

I bought a pair of VapCell Gold 20700s a couple of weeks ago.

With temperature set to 450 F the mod settles in somewhere just above 40 Watts. With an 18650, I will go through one charge and then some on one bottle of juice. With one of the 20700's, I will finish a bottle before needing a charge boost through the USB or a battery swap.

What I'm thinking of doing is building either of the toppers with a few less wraps per coil, which would decrease metal mass and reduce the power needed to reach temp. Use that build with an 18650 and maybe not need a boost or a swap so soon.

With all else being equal, performance in terms of run time will be determined by the actual mAh rating of the battery.

If you vape at the same wattage setting, with the same coil (wire gauge and resistance) a battery rated at 3000mAh (for example) will give you the same run time regardless of whether it is an 18650 or 20700, assuming that the batteries are accurately rated.

If you want longer run time, you need to get batteries with a higher mAh rating - and not just what the label says, but the actual tested mAh rating. Remember - some (many?) manufacturers tend to stretch the truth with battery specs, so you might think you are buying a 4000mAh battery when you are actually getting something less.
