I've used both the LG HB2 and the Samsung 30Q, both are excellent batteries, super long life and they seem to deliver a good punch right till the end. I know it doesn't make sense, but other batteries I've tried, you can tell when they are dropping off, even in regulated mods.

It's not weird, some batteries are capable of producing more amperage as the voltage drops, these work better because a lot of regulated devices lower the wattage as the batteries sag under load. Some devices let you know there doing this (ex. SXK), some don't, and some simply say the battery is dead when this happens (ex. Cloupor).

I guess that makes perfect sense then. The LG and 30Q's seem to be the best as far as that aspect is concerned. I don't super sub ohm or run super high wattages either, so MAH is the determining factor for me when buying batteries.

It was generally accepted that AW re-wrapped other manufactured cells (probably Panasonic) a few years ago when all there was were protected ICR batteries. These ICR cells had "Assembled in China, Cell and IC made in Japan" on the shrink wrap label.

However, AW was the first to put IMR batteries on the market about four years ago. AW IMR batteries only said "Made in China". They are also the only brand to offer high quality 14500, 18350, and 18490/18500 IMR batteries. LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Sanyo, and Sony don't make IMR/INR batteries in those sizes, so they are probably not re-wraps. I personally believe AW is making their own IMR batteries in China. I have no evidence to support this belief, just a paper trail.

AW's current top IMR battery, the 18650 3000mah 20 amp CDR, says "Made in Korea". Mooch said the performance profile of this cell matches those of the LG HG2, so it may be a re-wrap. AW 20A 3000mAh Flat-Top 18650 Bench Test Results...a good high-capacity 20A battery, could be an HG2

Thanks Mr. BAD!

tonight my slightly less inebriated brain will do some research and maybe shoot out some emails and see what I can find out about the 18350s and 18490s
