I just got my Riva with the 901 adapter. It came with LR-EM9 atomizers. I think I read somewhere that you had to get the primer off before you use an atomizer. I can't seem to find that post.

Also, I put the atomizer on to see what it looked like and accidentally hit the manual button. I got a horrible burnt smell! Do I need to wash it to get rid of that and if so how do I do it?

Thanks

That horrible smell is the primer. Take the atomizer off of the battery. Tuck the end with the threads into a paper towel and blow really, really hard through the open end. You'll see fluid comes out and is now on the paper. Keep doing that until you can't get anymore fluid out. Reassemble your e-cig and try vaping. If you have a bottle of juice, drip a drop or two on the bridge of the atomizer. (When you look down into the atomizer, you'll see a metal hump, that's the bridge.)

The first few drags will still have a bit of that primer taste so I usually just puff and blow the vaper out until I can't taste the nastiness anymore.
