So I've decided that I love building my own coils and decided I would build my own mod. I am going with a dual 18650 box made from the nifty longhorn vapor company box they package their juice bottles in. I have the 510 connector mocked up in this pic and it's a good fit! Attached is the TOBH 26650 V3 atty for fit. Up soon will be my battery and switch placement, and wiring, then the solder.. stay tuned!

Hmmm.. I think I zigged when I shoulda zagged.. I put in my battery components and inserted one battery to check fitment and it started cooking.. Came close to the battery exploding. Not sure why, no wires were hooked up to anything **shrug** Now I have a fried sled, a cooked battery, and a new respect for basic electronics.. gotta try to figure out what happened, why, and how to rectify.. to be continued!!

How did you wire it up?
Parallel batt holders?
Did you put the batteries into the holder the same way?

I only had the contacts placed. They were opposite, much like you would see in any battery operated device. I had no wires hooked to anything at all when I placed the first batt for fitment. Only put the one in and heard what sounded like the sound of bacon frying, saw a smoke wisp.. I figured I had about 2.5 seconds to get that battery out of the holder and in a safe (across the yard) distance from myself and others lest it be a 2am trip to the ER..

Not all boxes are opposite position. It depends how its wired up. You got pics?
Neg wire top right, pos wire top left. The wires were not connected to anything. I inserted the battery for fitment, negative end on the spring, positive to the flat contact piece. Again, no wires connected but the battery started cooking. Lol. No pics taken of it. :-(

Not hating on you but it's physically impossible for the battery to blow while not touching pos/neg unless you threw it in the oven. It was shorting somehow. Doesn't make sense at all that it would be pre wired with the neg and pos touching but i'm clueless at this point.

As am I. I'm not expecting any electrical engineer, electrician, or even your friendly neighborhood radio shack employee to believe what happened without a video, so I don't hold your own disbelief against ya. It didn't blow, but it started cookin'. I'll post a pic of the burn on the batt tomorrow. Lol. Anywho, I've gotten a game plan and it's all underway again!
