Just wanted to say hi, and thanks for all the research, testing, and advising done by so many here. I actually registered a while ago, but found/created one excuse after another to put off quitting.
So, my first day off Winston regs.
Smoked about 20 years, at about a pack and a half a day near the end. Starting out with a Silver Bullet and some RY4.
Wish I could say I don't miss the analogs, but I do. Those pretty red packs seem to be everywhere when I go out.
However, having committed to this, I let the occasional craving pass, doing my best not to dwell on it, and move on.
Anyway, thanks for this forum, and all the best to all the e-smokers.

Hi Boony and welcome to ECF though you been here awhile. That craving thing will pass or I should say come less often. I still get it once in awhile but when I used to cave I found it wasn't the cigarettes I missed it was the habit part. Anyway it does get easier everytime and I just shrug it off now. Good luck and you'll make it.

Welcome and hello boony! :) Some of us do find it harder to give up the analogs than others but don't let that discourage you. It takes time and it does get easier. I have been vaping since about February 1st and just became smoke free about a week ago. I was a pretty heavy smoker for 34 years and thought that I would be able to give it up from day 1 of receiving my PV like so many others here and was disappointed with myself when I could not. But every analog that you do not smoke is an accomplishment and well on the way to becoming smoke free. I wish you the best of luck and continued success! Happy Vapes! :D

Starting off with a commercial mod is a great way to get started if you are commited!!! I continued analogs for a while after I got my first two cheapy 510 and Njoy kits (great units but batteries sucked). Once I got my TW Tornado it was smooth sailing! I tried every method possible to quit but 5cardstud's post about the "habit" not the cigs being the biggest problem pegs it for me. Keep with it!!! Good luck!!!

I'm sure you researched it but your SB can run at higher voltage with different batteries. Gives you a versatile device for cost of different batts. Something you may want to try sometime.
Thanks Scott, I'll look in to that. Right now I'm using an Ultrafire 3.7 volt, but I'll see what else is out there.

Thanks to all for the welcome!

Scardstud, I think your right about the habit. I keep getting up to run to the store for cigs, and then catching myself.

This is a good point. I have been vaping since Feb of 2009, and the main thing that was always so inconvenient, or made me want to go back to analogs was the batteries. They were unreliable, and didn't last that long, where I had to carry a bunch of them on me at any time. I had previously used the PureSmoker Pilot (401), a penstyle, and a Joye 510. I recently ordered the eGo (same as the TW Tornado), and the battery life on these things is amazing. One battery lasts about 8 hours, so you know that you're covered for that time and don't have to worry about it. Since I get my eGo, I have not even had the slightest desire to go back to analogs. It just always works, and is not at all frustrating. Good luck to you!
