Hi all. I'm excited to get my order from Wizard Labs. It has taken a long time since they are backlogged with the FDA scare.

Posted this over in New Members also but not getting much help.

Here is a list of TFA flavors. Looking for possible combo suggestions and % suggestions.

Cheesecake
RY4 double flavor one
Apple Pie
Banana Nut Bread
Double Chocolate
Gummy Candy
Koolada 10%
Milk Chocolate
Orange Cream
Pina Colada
Raspberry
Watermelon
Vanillin
Tutti-Frutti
Menthol 10%

Couple of ?'s - anyone know of a Peanut Butter that doesn't have any of the 3 bad indrediants in it. Anyone have a good chocolate orange recipe? And any combos with menthol or that Koolada? I like the cool effect of the menthol but not sure what to mix with them. And RY4 seems very popular, is that vaped on its own or what would I put in it?

Anyone have a nice simple method to try each of these flavors without making a big batch? I've seen so many ways its done. Is there a basic, common way that most try?

Thanks,

bjseggerman

Typically fruit flavors mix well with eachother.

With most TFA flavors I have found that 10% is usually a good spot of the total mix to use but I use mainly fruit flavors with that guideline. With the tobacco and bakery flavors it can vary.

Here are some guidelines that I found in another thread that can be used with TFA flavors. Please note that they are just guidelines and your personal taste may vary with different percentages. What tastes good to one person may not taste the best to you at a given percentage.

View attachment TFA flavor percentages.pdf

I add about 2-3% of the Koolada to the total mix if I want to add the icy feel.

Also if you have a small bottle or a graduated cylinder you can mix small batches and just drip them on a simple RDA. If you don't have one then you can take something like an empty tank and put some of the mixed liquid on the wick and vape it to get a taste for how it is. But with small batches it is advised to purchase some of the 1ml syringes in order to get small amounts of precise percentages.

RY4 Double (Not regular RY4 or RY4 Asian) is my favorite flavor. I usually make it at 8% and add 1 drop of AP per 5ml for a nutty taste. I sometimes also add 2% Caramel and Vanilla Swirl (or Bavarian Cream if you prefer) for a sweeter treat.

As for trying them I suggest making small batches (5-10ml) until you find something you like. Something I also tried was taking a toothpick dipping the tip in the flavor and mixing with about a half teaspoonful full of whipped cream (Cool Whip). It gives you an idea of what the flavor tastes like and how strong it is. Good luck on your DIY Adventure! :toast:

Hi and congratulations on your first diy order!! I'm a new diy juicer myself. Only been doing mine for about two weeks . I first started off following others recipies and that worked out nicely then I got into expirmenting with my own stuff. Some turned out wonderfully some not so good but that's the fun of expirmenting. I do have a suggestion that you can take or leave. Not everyone does this but I've found it can really bring out some flavors nicely and that's using a sweetner. I perfer to use sucralose. A drop or two of sucralose in a fruit mix brings out the flavors well and sweetens up the mix. Now I'm sure not everyone will agree with this but it has worked very nicely for me. Their are several sweetner available but for me, I perfer the sucralose. It does not have a after taste or that diet cola taste. It's simply sweet. In my opinion. And it really brings out the flavors of fruit. You might try it and see if it's for you or not. I noticed you didn't get a sweetner. Not everyone uses one. But if you like sweet juices you can try it and see if you like it. Most of all just have fun and enjoy learning about mixing. Everyone has their own tastes and you can personalize your juice to your taste. That's what so great about making your own! I wish I'd started sooner. It's a lot of fun. Enjoy!!

let me recommend you an easy quick and delicious first mix for a first time diy'er
1. make a pg/vg base of your percentage choice in a small quantity
2. add 10% of tfa watermelon
3. shake/mix well, and you can vape right away without steeping
4. add your menthol in small increments to your desired taste
5. add your nic

I don't have a after taste with sucralose at all whatsoever but everyone is different that's why it's good to expirment and see what you like. Some don't use sweetner at all. But for me they bring out my fruits better. It's all a matter of personal taste. That's the fun part. You can mix to your desired taste whatever that may be. One size does not fit all. Find out what you like and go with it! Most of all have fun! I suggest trying your mix before adding the nicotine because nicotine is the most expensive and if you don't like it you won't be waiting the nicotine. Best wishes

Just an update for you all. Mixed my first juices tonite. It was relatively painless. Watermelon at 10% ended up at 15%. Banana Nut Bread at 5% is really good. Taste mostly the nut and bread but its nice. Apple Pie 10% mostly just the light sweet crust coming through but I'm on the same dripper the Nut Bread was just on. All 3 flavors with no steep time so I"m looking forward to the flavors getting better!!

I'll have to play with the Menthol and Koolada.

Wish the Watermelon was stronger though. It is pretty light. I have head some say to use Raspberry with it and that brings out the flavor. Any idea on what percent for the Raspberry??

Just a suggestion. I've Ben diy for several months now :)
Mixing ratios:

For max flavor and cloud production:
40/60 PG / VG This mixture provides flavor and vapor density without a harsh hit. All of the benefits, no draw backs.

Flavor:

Fruits 5-20%
Tobacco 2%
Creams 10-15%
Chocolate 12%
Candies 5-20%
Menthol 1-2%

Blends from Lorannoils only take a few hrs to steep vs days-weeks. Steeping can be supplanted by placing your mix in the window for direct sunlight, although if you're not using light sensitive glass, nicotine may break down with heat treat steeping.

I also run a fb page called Stop Smoking Start Vaping if you'd like to message questions. Ty.

I have made a 5% mix of each flavor in 4mls of PG/VG. I haven't used much of anything, so there's little waste. I can slowly increase the % from there until I find the right one.

I've read that you can also put a drop of each flavor with whipped cream and sample that way.

Do you have access/know where to use a good calculator? Either online or download?

Good luck with DIY - it's fun and rewarding.

Just some updates in my experimenting.

Banana Nut Bread 5% - like this. I hear this is a good mixing flavor. What would be nice with this?

RY4 - 7% - thanks for the suggestion. It's good. I added 1% Vanillin but dont really taste the vanilla. Only steeping 2 days tho.

Double Chocolate 5% - very rich - almost too rich. Tastes more brownie chocolate. I added this to my Orange Cream 9% and its nice. Still a little too rich for me. Less Chocolate I think?

Milk Chocolate - started at 5% but no flavor so upped it to 10% - Can taste the chocolate now. Steeping and will try again. Hoping for more of a candy chocolate than the rich brownie flavor. Its starting to taste like the double chocolate tho :(

Watermelon - 15% - its nice but still too weak. Unfortunately that just may be the natural watermelon. I like the overly candy flavor watermelon. I think someone suggested Capella's is more like candy. I dumped in my Raspberry 2.5% to this. It's good but that Raspberry is still strong. I'm not crazy about Raspberry but its ok. I'll try a 1% then up the Raspberry if needed.

Pina Colada 11% - This is strong for me. The coconut I think. Will need to find another flavor to cut down that with.

Apple Pie 10% - I like this. More of the crust with a bit of spice. Not much apple at all.

I have a few more flavors to try. Just didn't get enough bottles :p Any tips are appreciated. Wont be ordering any flavors for awhile tho. Need to get these mastered first before I go flavor crazy.

Thanks

Glad you like the RY4 Double, it's my favorite vape . I've never tried adding Vanillin, I hear it's pretty weak. I have excellent results adding 2% Vanilla Swirl to it though, I also add 2-3 Caramel when I want to kick it up a notch.

The Double Chocolate tastes more like unsweetened or bakers chocolate to me and I agree it's pretty strong. I only use it as an ingredient in mixes (not solo). Adding some marshmallow to it will sweeten it up and add a creamier taste. Like baking I always add a touch of vanilla (vanilla swirl for me) to make the chocolate pop.

Sounds like you're off to a good start.,. Congrats! :toast:

Cheers,
Steve
