I couldn't agree with this more... feelin a bit green over here. :)

No big deal, I'm rather green myself. But I've loved rebuilding so far, and won't be purchasing a clearo in the foreseeable future.

I'll warn you though. Rayon is great, with a far cleaner taste than cotton. When I started using it, I swear I read things like "it compresses when wet, you can really cram it in there!" I've found that this is not at all the case. You use a shade more than you would cotton (though this won't mean anything to you), still a seemingly tiny amount. At most 1.5-2x the width of the coil when the rayon is uncompressed. It should slide pretty easily, but still have a bit of resistance (a "squeek" that you can feel, but it shouldn't deform your coils wen you slide it).

I only say this because wicking is, IMO, the most difficult part. Most vids you'll see either use cotton, or are putting rayon in an rda.

But, that's just me blathering. I'm excited for you; branching into rebuildables is great fun. You'll be happy you did and vaping pretty after a few days of practice at most.

Keep us updated!

Mike. You did fine getting the TGT. It is easy to build and wick. It offers very good flavor. I look forward to following your journey.

By the way, if you ever do decide to get the FlashEVapor, I'll Skype with you or even make a tutorial video in English.

If you want some rayon and Japanese cotton, PM me your addy and I'll send ya some.

I will. :)

Once I get it in, I plan to post pics here of my first builds or two, along with performance comments. I'm hoping if I'm doing anything wrong, someone will spot it and point me in the right direction.

Thanks! I think it's a good first buy. So many people use it, and no one has really had any major complaints about it.

I'm still really interested in the FlashEVapor, as well as the ErlK, and a couple others. As my budget gets under control, I think I'll be making some purchases just for fun. It's weird, the FeV is so popular with the Germans, but it seems to barely get a nod in the US. I can't figure out why. The people that use it are just gaga over it. It seems like it should have a bigger following. Is it really new or something?

I may have to take you up on your wick offer, seeing as how I have zero stock of anything at the moment. lol

Ohh man I so jealous... Thinking of that first pull on a well set up rebuildable compared the the clearos I came from. So dense, so moist, ZOMG sooo much flavor.. YYYUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMM. Massive upgrade headed your way.

You're gunna love this MikeB
Haha! Thanks.

...Its the "well set up" part that's worrying me now. Its been hard to find my pics of builds. Best I've seen so far is Phil on youtube. He always has nice clear visuals. He's using mesh though, which I haven't figured out where to get or if I even need it.

I think all FEV users on this side of the ocean are in the same boat...dont understand how more people aren't all over this. Once they release a V3 clone, maybe the masses will finally listen ;)

Ok, so I did my first build on the Taifun GT...

I don't know. It tastes 'funny'. Can't explain how exactly. Metallic, bitter, dark, toasted? This Halo Prime 15 tastes 'bright' and slightly sweet in my Nautilus with BVC coils. The taste was similar on a carto tank, but not quite as bright, but on this TFGT its different.

The pull is really stiff. I'm getting enough air, but not for my tastes. Not getting the amount of vapor I expected. It's about the same as the Nautilus. I don't have another tube, so I might just pull this one out and try it without it.

It reads 1.3 ohms. At 3.4 volts on my provari, that should be almost 9 watts. I used to run the BVCs at 9 watts, and I just got a better vape, true they burned up in a day, but I got a better vape while it lasted.

I did 8 wraps of what I think might be 28 gauge (the vendor didn't label the bag and I got 26, 28, 30, and 32 gauge) on a 3/32" drill bit. The wraps touch as best I could make them. I dry burned it for a second or two maybe dozen times to oxidize it as I read. I then slipped in enough rayon that it sorta squeeked (cellucotton from Sally's), trimmed the ends, juiced, and tested. It made vapor, so I filled the tank and vaped. Weird taste.

Also, isn't the little cup around the deck supposed to click up and down? It goes down, but doesn't really seem to want to stay up. I had to hold it in place as I screwed the cap on, and while building I just pulled it off, since it had already almost come off when I was trying out raising and lowering it.

Some of the clones have something off at the deck That doesn't let the chamber click in place.
Also As a rule all my gear needs to be Completely torn down, screws and all, soaked and dries to make sure the machine oil is completely off.
Mine are built the same way and taste similar to a dripper. Just not as robust volume of vaper.
I removed the afc tube , and use a wider bore drip tip to open up the draw.
