Hey all! I'm new to all this madness, and I have to say, I'm slightly impressed. I didn't really know there was an entire community and what-not. I just randomly ran across an e-cigarette on a gadget website, and instantly had to have one.

Unfortunately I cheaped out and bought a mini cigarette from safesmokes.net because it was the cheapest one I could find, that wasn't ebay, at 60 dollars, free shipping. It arrived promptly, which was a surprise, but I'm not entirely that impressed with it. I know I should have dished out the extra 100 bucks for a higher quality one at first, but I didn't want to spend 200 bucks on something that I might not like. Has anyone bought one of these from this site? Any suggestions? I'm completely new to all of this, so I don't know what to do.

The battery seems to only last about 2 hours, and cartridges seem to go bad fast, like twice a day, or at least, that's what it seems. Maybe it just needs a break? On the website they state that one cartridge was equal to two packs of regular cigarettes, and I was expecting it to at least last as long as one pack lasts me. All in all, it gives me the nicotene fix, I haven't smoked a regular cigarette in 2 days, and don't really feel the need to with this little guy helping me. I do miss the flavour, but I'm sure I can get used to this.

Seeing as how my female is not going to let me drop $200+ on a namebrand one for a while (Shut up, you know you're all whipped too :p) Any suggestions on how to get the maximum enjoyment out of the mini cigarette at safesmokes.net?

Sorry for the long first post. Good to be here. Hope to be here for a long while!

Edit: Wow looks like I shoulda got one from njoy, only slightly more than I paid for the mini, and seems to have better reviews. I'm sad now :-(

hi and welcome. I bought my first device from dealextreme, a cheap semi-auto cigar model for 26 bucks. I just wanted to try out e-smoking and soon after i got it, i bought an njoy. If you believe your device is working like its supposed to and you are not satisfied with its performance, i would go to the tips and tricks section and see what jimldk has posted about getting good performance. You can drip some liquid, very popular, directly on to the atomizer for massive vapor. Or you can modify your cartridges to get more liquid action to the atomizer. You can deal with the flavor problem by getting some nicotine solution (e-liquid), from e-cig.com, freesmoke.uk, and other websites that can be located in the suppliers section. You can also squeeze some juice from your existing cartridges on to the atomizer, that's how I initially tried dripping. 2-3 drops should not be exceeded because you don't want to saturate the atomizer and clog it up. 2-3 drops will give you about 3-4 cigarettes worth of smoke, depending on how much you inhale and for how long you puff at a time. Hope this helps and enjoy e-smoking.

I went about it pretty much the same way you did. Bought a crown 7 cigar instead of the safesmoke because I figured the larger size would hold up better during daily use.

One of my biggest complaints about the experience thus far is how short the cartridges last. I've looked around here and I'll post what I think YOU and others can do to improve their e-smoking experience. Just to kinda cram everything together.

1. E-liquid. The cartridges that came with my e-cigar (and probably yours too) are weak by comparison to a normal cigarette and the flavors are either fruity or very tasteless. Search for E-liquid from FREESMOKE or e-cig.com; you can find plenty of info about them on this forum. According to some posts here, the e-liquid from FREESMOKE is of superior quality while the liquid from e-cig is cheap/plentiful. As i understand it Very High is 26-24 mg and that is probably what most smokers are used to. My cigar feels like an ultra ultra ultra light, so charging cartridges is my next step. And it may end right there; lots of people sound prety darn satisfied with their e-smoking expierience, and most who are are talking about e-liquid here.

2. Customize your cartridges. my-experiment--t216.html has a really neat sounding experiment using a hypodermic needle to create a channel from your lips direct to your atomizer. Pics on page 2 and all. You may be invalidating the warranty doing some of this but the really nice thing about buying the cheapy cheaps is that you are less inclined to care.

3. Batteries=shop around, methinks. These rechargeables range in quality from a day of use to a week between charges. One tip for battery charge would be to let your batteries go from full to dead several times. I don't know why, but doing this has a tendency to give them flex and improve performance over their life.

The atomizer is the part I least want to tinker with, and frankly the part that should need the least amount of play. E-liquid and extra cartridges will probably help you considerably. I think they will me.

whew. two more posts to go and I can start new topix :p
