2 days with NO cigs (real ones that is!)

I am two days smoke free after 25 years of smoking. I only ever smoked a half pack a day but it was enough, especially since hospicing my mom who passed away a year ago of lung cancer, and even then I didn't quit :(.

I got the Blu E Cig for Christmas from my husband who does not smoke and wants me to quit for me and my daughter. I know I should have quit long ago and then after mom passed away I was so depressed I just couldn't seem to give them up. I finally pulled out my Blu E cig a few days ago and didn't buy another pack of American Spirits. I am still a bit cranky and miss my usual cigarettes but I am doing fairly well using the E Cig to help me through. So it's been 2.5 days without a puff and I am pretty proud of myself.

I plan on ordering a lower nicotine level each time I order refills until I am on 0 and then may just vape with 0 from then on out until I just want to put it down and be done. We'll see. Wish me luck and pray for me, I need it! I don't ever want to go back to tobacco. It disguises itself as your best friend as it slowly kills you.

Anyway, that is my story, I'm glad to be here and happy vaping! :smokie:

I've just begun the vaping journey, as well. I'm two days without analogs! I smoked a pack a day for 27 years! I don't miss them at all YET, and hopefully I won't! I love vaping, and can see myself analog free for the first time in my life! I started smoking when I was 13, so I really don't ever remember NOT smoking! Thanks to all who help the new guys! This site is a huge help for me!

Welcome to ECF! That goes for you too, Trainman and dbertram and anyone else that's new here. Let us know how you're doing.

Starry, I sure like your ID. Good choice. You, Rebarooski, and Fullback need to join the Colorado Vapers group: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/groups/covape-colorado-vaping-enthusiasts.html

I keep hoping that forum will get more active, so all of you Coloradoans should join. I'd love to get a meet up going sometime.

Starry, my mom passed October 5th from lung cancer. I didn't stop smoking either. I think, looking back, I felt I needed them more than ever. I didn't want to be preached at for the 1000th time. I've been off analogs since last Saturday. It's been easier than I thought, with the e-cig, but I am having to re-learn how to live my life without analogs. I incorporated them into everything and extremely stubborn when people would talk to me about quitting. I would brissle, fangs showed, and claws came out. It was the one thing that was MINE.....so was the coughing, spewing, etc. I'm on disability from fibromyalgia and interstitital cystitis. Coughing and these two autoimmune ailments DON'T go together. I live in pain everyday to some degree, and just felt that they were my pacifier. I have only had one really bad craving and that was yesterday. I got through it and was proud of myself for not giving in. Today is another day, and I face it as such. The e-cig is BY FAR better than cold turkey. I knew cold turkey wasn't for me and I'd fold. This is the best way for me. I am thankful for it. Just take it minutes at a time, if you have to. Whatever works! BTW, welcome! :)
