I have 3 Kanger sub tank mini's and 2 of the bases are rusting!! I have gone through the authentication with kanger and they of course are genuine. I contacted about warranty and have gotten the complete run around. I hate to think kanger does not stand behind their products but that is my conclusion. Is there anyone here from kanger that may be able to help?

That looks more like a flame was held up to them, but Im going to assume you know what rust is.
Do you keep them near water or in high humidity?
How long ago did you buy them and do you have a receipt, since you think their customer service is unfair?
Do you use water to dilute your juices?
I would think rust, especially on the outside, is user error.

u could take it apart to see where rust is originating from.
with pliers grap where arrows are and unscrew as they are threaded together and afc ring is sandwiched between them.
once unscrewed afc ring will just come off but be careful theres a ball bearing and maybe a spring under afc ring.

I left them in water for a couple of hours and got them out to dry them off and they looked like that. unbelievable. I think I'm just gonna give up on Kangertech because I am getting no help from them.
If they are new try contacting the vendor you bought them from.

I don't blame kanger for not helping. Its rust, that you caused. In no way did there product malfunction.

    thats b.s.
    quality ss shouldnt rust period
The spring for the detent ball won't be made of stainless. The detent ball itself probably isn't stainless either. Using a softer metal for the detent ball keeps the afc ring from wearing out, just the ball that probably costs a couple cents. And since it rolls, it would have to wear quite a bit before there was an issue. Just follow the directions above to take it all the way apart and clean up the rust. The stainless isn't rusting, the water washed the rust out of the little hole with spring and ball in it. It's really not a big deal. Take it apart, wipe it down good, slap it back together and it's all good.

I may take it apart tomorrow but really don't feel like I should have to. Like it was said, stainless should not rust and the base is clearly rusted. I soak my aspire atlantis tanks in water all the time and have never had a problem. I have had terrible luck with kanger products in general. I only bought these from a coop because my girlfriend likes them. Thanks for your replies but I'm just gonna trash them and convert my SO to aspire tanks. My lesson I am taking with me is no more kanger products recommended or used by me or mine.

That's too bad but I completely understand where you are coming from. I just love my subtanks. I do have a triton coming tomorrow though so my kangertech love affair may be coming to an end [emoji6].
