I know my sig says how long I have been smoke free but I have slipped a few times, and had three outings where I got drunk and smoked a pack, and I have had a pack lingering around in case of emergency for about a month, I have a 510 with 2 attys, 2 Xl batts, 5 cartomisers, 10 LR cartos, 2 ego batts, 6 (4 now 2 were trashed) tanks attys (2 stock attys trashed replaced with volcano attys they are AWESOME) 10 blank tanks, 90ml of bobas bounty alone and about 50 of various BWB, about 80 ml of various samples,(FSUSA Halo, eciggy) 70ml Gormet Vapor trying to make my own all day vape. 60ml of new companies having sales Vixen Vapors, Bombay Vapors, box to put it all in and a couple paint pens to label it all. Now lets see if I ever get out of this hole

I spent about $2000 in the first 9 months or so that I was vaping. Granted that was buying 3 mods, 2 Sticks, my original 901 that I started with, and a ton of juice and extra atties. I am so glad that I am OCD about stocking up on things because at that point my Hubby almost died from an aortic dissection, had surgery and was on disability for 4 months and then took another 3 to get back to full time. Needless to say we were BROKE and I couldn't buy anything vape related since we were borrowing money from family just to keep food on the table. I had enough backup juice and atties that in 10 months I have spent all of $60 on vaping. That is about what it would cost me to smoke for 1 week. I have way more than broken even and now I feel no guilt that I am planning to order another mod this week :). I like the one's I have, but I want a bottom feeder and can finally afford to splurge on something just for me again. The point to all of this is that once you find the juices you like and the devices you like you will spend way less than you do in the beginning and you will definitely spend less than it costs to buy stinky sticks. And if you stock up when you have a little extra money, then if there is a time when things are really tough you'll be able to happily vape away and spend next to nothing.

Hows about 10k sound so far in hardware and juice, yup that's right, but I haven't had a smoke in all this time I've been vaping so Im at an even point now and I couldn't give a hoot if I was in the hole, I'm not smoking and that's all that matters to me anymore, my health alone is worth the 10K, rather be giving the USA vendors my money than Big tobacco, big Pharma, and the Dr's any day of the week. Lastly I feel way better health wise, my homes dont stink anymore, along with my cars and clothing, all the way around I consider myself way way ahead of the game

Atari,

I don't know how West Virgina prices are but smoking a pack a day in NY would have cost $600 over those 2 months! So you are saving money! Not to mention all the lil costs that go along with smoking: gas to drive to store to buy cigs, lighters, gum, mints, Dr's and medication costs when every cold turns into bronchitis or pneumonia!

If you are having trouble slipping, try to have one stronger bottle of juice with you at all times. With me, I carry a 24mg one for my "911" juice cuis I normally vape 15-16mg. Make it a unique flavor and when you are going to cave, vape that juice until you calm down. I'd also suggest picking up a 5 volt Passthrough from Madvapes. The PT and AC adapter are like $25 and it will kick you in the teeth with it's strength. It hits me like a cigarette did with a 2 second drag on it.

Good luck and keep on trying!

I've saved about $500 by not smoking... but I've spent about $800, so far. So...

With cigarettes, I'd have a $500 pile of butts.

With e-cigs, I think I have enough high-end mods, spare parts and liquid to last through the Zombie Apocalypse and also supply all of the people I choose to invite into my safe room.

I'm okay with that.

I yet cigs haven't hit crack prices here like they have in NY, I usually bought three packs at a time for 14$ but I have to have something to tinker with, it keeps me interested and keeps me vaping. I was going to get in DIY liquid but ever since I started messing with LR and CE2 carts, Im thinking about a juice feed mod, like a rio, but I really want a mini map tanks after I get to play with my CE2 carts at different Ohm, and then once I get the issue of juice figured out as to what I like better and at what Ohm, then I would love to get a provari so I can try out VV and see what its all about. I think I have a problem lol.

WILL YOU ADOPT ME??? I purrr really loud...or I can just do my cute meow.

On the serious side, who cares what you spend. Your health is all that matters. I watched my father-in-law die from lung cancer. I don't want to go that way.

Make sure that emergency pack of smokes gets nice and stale.
It's much better to fall off the wagon and smoke a six month old cigarette, It'll turn you off real quick.

I kept a carton around for a month. I did it out of fear that ecigs wouldn't be the answer. After I knew I wouldn't go back, they landed in the brush fire.

I kept a pack and a half around for a while, just in case. I tried smoking one after a week or so of vaping and it was nasty. I tried again after a month and it was totally disgusting. I gave the full pack to someone who was puffing away in a smoking area. I figured she'd just go spend $4 on a pack of smokes anyway so I'd save her a few bucks. The 1/2 pack went in the trash. I've still got a few Zippos and a bunch of disposable lighters around. They haven't been used for anything but birthday candles though.

I havnt done any any math yet but I will to see where I'm at.
...
About $160 spent of vaping. One crappy supermini I shouldn't have bought as I never even used it, and couldn't return to the smoke shop. An 801 with 2 exta attys and 60ml of juice total. And a pack of blue foam. My analog cost would have been about $25. I guess I'll catch up in about a month. But if you put a dollar value to the smell of me, the smell of my car, the color of my teeth, the ability to vap whenever I'm stressed, and of course my health I already feel like I'm up.

I've come to an important conclusion today and new resolution. After vaping for 6 months I'm still a month away, maybe a bit more from breaking even. Didn't start vaping to save money but assumed that would also end up being another benefit from giving up smoking. I actually did most of my spending in the first three months and not a lot these last three months. I've decided as long as I've broken even at the end of my first year I'll be happy. I can reap the benefits of the savings in the second year and for years to come after that If that's what I choose to do. Happy shopping all !!!!

one of the people that I converted to vaping had a carton of cigarettes when she started. She said she was going to give the cigarettes to her sister... I asked.. "why would you do that to someone you love? Give them to someone you dont like much or just simply throw them away!" I wouldnt consider giving away extra cigs to someone I cared about. I'd rather give them a cheapo PV and get them going in the right direction. My brother, who I have been trying to convert, fell for one of the online "free trials" and thankfully he told me in the nick of time and was able to get out of it, is now going to be getting an eGo-T... welcome convert #8 :) This is easier than selling girl scout cookies

I too fell into it head first, that is; must have spent well over $500 in the first month then about $100 per month thereafter. And then when realized I had stockpiled gear and liquids as if 2012 is a reality, I gave almost all of it away except for a Riva, one xlong kr808, and a handful of liquids. Now all those I gave this stuff to are in the stockpiling phase.. lol ;)
