 Hi everyone
So 1st I’ll tell you what I have, then my dilemma, my preference & finally my question to save your time. Ok, so I’m using a Tobeco 25mm Supertank (w/the Aspire NX75 which most of the time I love. Here in the past few days (using 3mg rather than 12mg ejuice), I’ve been filling my tank way too much!!! I don’t know what’s up except I’m hitting it more because I’m not getting the nic level my body is used to- not sure. Ideas?? :offtopic:
My actual issue is this- when I bought my setup from a friend who’d never smoked & didn’t like it...she had a pack with four .2ohm atomizers/coils. My preference is a cooler vape with a good (but not painful or irritating) throat hit. I generally keep my Aspire on wattage mode around 33 watts. I don’t mess with temp control at all. I enjoy my nice vape clouds but wouldn’t call myself a “cloud chaser”. So my question is...for what I have & how I prefer to vape- should I stick with .2 or should I try out the .5? It’s time to order & I am unsure. How would one over the other make a difference? FYI-I’ve gone through 3 coils in 22 days. Thanks so much to everyone that read this giant thread & for anyone kind enough to help a girl out. I appreciate you more than you could imagine! I’m loving the change from 3yrs of buying Vuse cartridges like crazy (cigs b4 that) & wanna be safe about it & try to be as thrifty as I can. Alright...thanks everyone!!! :vapor:

A .5 ohm coil should be more in line with your vaping style. With the adjustments to wattage on your mod you should be able to get about the same vape with both the .2 and the .5 coils but I find the higher ohm of the .5 will be better for a cooler vape. I find 0.5ohms to be about perfect for me and I also like a cooler hit. When you get your coils start low and work your way up to find a wattage that gives you the vape you want. Make sure to prime your coils before installing and give them some time after you fill your tank to absorb some juice. With that and starting low and working your way up to find what wattage you want will help your coils last as long as possible. Best of luck to you and I hope I’ve been of some help to you finding the perfect vape.

Greetings Madstabber, Happy Saturday  and I’d like to say thank you soooooo much for the simple answer that also provides an easy to understand the explanation. My life (as far as vaping goes) is loads better now that I found all of you super friendly & smart/experienced vapers! Is vapers a word?, lol. I got so sick of typing “members of the vaping community” (like we’re comprised of some organization,...lmao! Quite the opposite-we’re all over the place with different opinions & info, etc). What makes me so super stoked about ecf is that I am getting the same type of answers- so, for me, that’s evidence that the group knows their stuff or will at least be honest if they don’t have an answer rather than making one up! And usually I get pointed in the right direction. Love it! You are maybe the 5th person I’ve spoken to that prefers a cool vape over a hot 100+ watt hit. I’ll end this rambling by saying thanks again for your time & yes you certainly have helped me on my journey to the perfect vape. Have a fabulous weekend!!...... :vapor:

I believe you've answered your own question here. Starving yourself leads to binging and short coil life.

Use a lower resistance coil for thicker and warmer vapor at a higher wattage, usually inhaled direct to lung. If that doesn't sound like your style use the other one.

Based on your vaping style described so far, you want the 0.5 coil.

BTW you can vape it at ANY wattage and airflow options you want, you should be guided by your vape experience, not what is printed on the side of the coil. Start low and work your way up.

Also, if the 0.5 is too low of a resistance, I might gently suggest cutting your losses. I have vaped many a sub0hm tank that I have HATED (usually won as part of a kit) so I give it away. To me it's not worth the hassle of changing everything (including nic level) around.

I like what I like what I like. That has changed (gently) over time. but I am still usually hovering somewhere between 0.7 to 1.8 ohms. That's not going to change. I also require a MTL driptip. Period. Etc.

Good luck.

It can be beneficial to seek the opinions of others – this is a natural human trait. But the reality is only you can decide on what you prefer which may come with trying something that you are not accustomed to, such as vaping at a different power level.

I say at the low expense of the coils it is worth experimenting to find what suits you the best. If you do not like particular coil, you can chalk that up as experience gained which can be carried throughout your vaping career.

@GOMuniEsq Yes yes... I figured that was it. And if this shows you how crazy I am atm- I have been using 6mg...where in the hell did I get 3??? I’m so tempted to bust out my 2 Vuse batteries & let them charge while I go get an $8 cartridge. :-x!!! On the other hand, there is a tobacco outlet 11mi away that does vary small amounts of higher nic level ejuice. I’m sure it’s not “top shelf” or what I’m used to from vape shops. It’s probably a better option than getting back into the Vuse cycle. I smoked Camel Lights for what feels like forever & about 3yrs ago....slowly but surely (after buying both for a while), I put down cigs for good! I’ll never go back to that. But yes, I am starving myself & I am starting to feel anxious..
Thanks for the coil advice & for helping me realize what I should have on my own,. Enjoy your day!

Thanks so much Anna, I think I’ve beem getting too absorbed in what I “should do” or what I’ve read on various websites. I’m curious about these drip tips & plan on reading up on it. Please don’t feel obligated to answer this, but when you smoked, were you a medium, heavy, or more than a pack/day type of smoker?
Just wondering how you arrived at your method of vaping.
Have a great weekend & thanks again for the reply.....Vape Love!

Great little thread guys. So refreshing to see…instead of the usual suspect lineup of hardware and setup preferences.

Good luck Perse :)
Thankyou! I’m so happy I finally found a kind group of ppl to give me real answers. Random google results were about to make my head do a 360!

Please don’t feel obligated to answer this, but when you smoked, were you a medium, heavy, or more than a pack/day type of smoker?

I started when I was 18. By the end I was a 3 ppd smoker and had 18 months straight (pretty much) pneumonia and also at one point my docs thought I had esophageal cancer. I was on the oral steroids, the nebulizer, the inhalers, the whole bit.

When I first discovered vaping I quit pretty easy for like 6 weeks. Then I took a really stressful job and went back to smoking. I dual used for a bit. Then I kind of gave up on that.

My docs were about to diagnose me with COPD. My own KID quit smoking, then vaping, and guilt gifted me his vape gear.

I always said the oxygen tank would be what stopped me smoking. I was also like "What is wrong with you your own SON quit BOTH things" and like, I came to ECF in distress (with a sub0hm setup) and like the rest was history.

Please don't think I never smoked another cigarette, in fact I did, last night. I am under a TON of stress and I stress smoke usually with the husband. But a cigarette every 7-9 months doesn't really bug me. For the majority of the time, I vape.

But, I'm not perfect. I try not to smoke because I never know the one that will "set off the relapse" but I do, occasionally. To be fair my current life IS SUCKING. But, l don't feet temped to smoke another actually I usually prefer to vape. My lungs and life are SO MUCH BETTER.

LOL.

Both coils will receive the selected wattage and be heated by it. The lower resistance coil will probably be made from slightly heavier wire and may take marginally longer to heat up. I would hazard a guess that you will not be able to tell the difference between them.
Using my metal slide rule, I would say that at 33 watts the 0.5 ohm coil will probably yield better results.

If there is no problem using the 12 mg/ml nicotine, why use the 3 mg/ml nicotine? You'll have to vape 4 times as much to get what you're used to using. Do you want to consume ejuice like water?

I'd swear I've already answered this question in another thread.o_O

Ayup, if not here then over there.

I tell you, I think the various forum owners run an AI script on the forums. The script keeps rehashing the same subject matter. Each time through it might make a few little tweaks here or there but it is ultimately the same old same old. It would be no problem for computers to alter the text in programmatic manner so as to make it seem just a enough different. If you watch, this will all cycle again in a month or so.

I think it is done in order to facilitate engagement, even if it is artificially propped up engagement. Folks see all the activity and so join the forum. there's a little get to know you that plays out naturally, then folks fairly well got a handle on the subject matter. So, what then? Well the forum needs to keep attracting users, to keep possibly adding to revenue. "Ah, I know let's have topics poked and rotated every so often, few if anybody will notice."

Some that do notice get a bit frustrated too. Hence you see me posting how I don't think what I do vaping wise daily genuinely matters. Ultimately, does it? I don't think it does. Folks that visit here vape. It is but one facet of their lives.

Today, I also set out some cucumber seeds in water to see if they'll germinate. If so I might be able to get a little harvested by the end of Autumn. The guy up the hill but across from us grows tomatoes, cucumbers, some melon. My point being we all do other things in life. try making idle chit chat with some of these posters you might suspect of being bots, watch and see if they shut down or come back with something making sense. If a bot, well, usually they get back to topic immediately as conversation otherwise is not programmed in.

Some things to think on for you. But who knows, I might have become bot by now. ;) :D :p :)

Personally I think it's people posting the same question in various threads.

That could be as well. I'm never really too sure one way or another. Of course there's days I wake and am told my name is Jim and I own an Idaho spud farm, other days I get told that no, I'm some Tom who runs Chinese fishing ships. Hard to keep track when you can forget even who you are. I don't mind though. If I did believe I would be as sane as some peg me to be. ;)

Hi there, I just wanted to drop you a big THANK YOU:thumbs: for your advice about the difference between the .2 & .5 coils, along with your other helpful tips & patience with me. I took your advice, bought a pack of .5 Tobecco coils & BIG difference from the .2!! Ending week 2 w/this coil & it seems to have a bit of time left. I’m also getting much better (nice & cool) hits in my low wattage- avg. 33-40. Been adjusting the air flow & finding that at different times of the day & w/diff juices, the best vape is achieved after some tweaking. So, you helped me quite a bit on my journey (to find the *perfect* vape) - now I’m on to figuring out this MTL vs. DTL issue as I’m finding some ppl say that certain mods are made for MTL production (or vica versa). The odd thing is... I tend to MTL vape but I do switch it up at times & do some DTL hits. Hmmm... I wonder if I’d benefit from a different mod. I have the original Aspire NX75. I don’t see myself spending over $100 on a box only as the more expensive ones seem to have TC & 100+W which isn’t my style. My Aspire has TC, but I stick with wattage mode. Sorry once again for the lengthy post. Feel free to messenge me to chat as well.
Cheers! :vapor:

That's interesting that you grow cucumbers. If I had a plot of land I'd certainly have a garden every summer, but for now I made due with a planting flowers on the balcony. Sometimes passers-by on the street call up to compliment me. When I'm feeling saucy I pluck raspberries off a neighbor's bushes from the safety of the alley behind his house.
