Hey Guys,

I wasn't sure where to post this but i am having a hard time deciding on a TEMP CONTROL device, i currently have a ipv D2 which i enjoy greatly but it leaves something to be desired, like power, full control, future proof specs , etc.

As the title states, i want to get the IPV3 Li with the 200 Watt upgrade as its on sale for $75.00 or should i wait until Xmas and get a DNA200 device. I want something more future proof, and so does my wife haha she's tired of me buying the next best thing every 3-6 months.

Second question is IF you think i should wait for the DNA200, which of the 3 would you suggest?

  1. Whiteout - DNA200
  2. Militia Mods - DNA200
  3. HCigarVT200
  4. VaporShark DNA200

I hope you really want some advise because this is going to sting.

Stop listening to the Hype!.. Full stop

You have 75W at your disposal. That is a lot of power if you know what you are doing. First learn how to use what you have to its fullest potential. Low mass Kanthal builds would be a good start.

Now about TC...

It is in it's infancy, wait until it matures. You can get a better vape right now off Kanthal than any TC build.

The DNA200 mods are going to have awful battery life. That combined with built in battery means you will need several. If you really want one wait until the DNA130 replaceable battery mods come out. Preferably one with dual 26650 batterys.

If all this makes you shake your head at least wait until PBusardo does his DNA200 showdown video.

Personally I'm waiting for the Vaporshark DNA200 to mature a little.

The Whiteout looks very interesting, but they're a startup, this is their first product launch and how well they support the product or how well it holds up over time are complete unknowns at this point. That said, I'm very impressed with the look and design of the Whiteout. I'm really hoping by the next generation of chips that they'll have earned a solid reputation.

I don't quite get the fascination with the DNA 200 but than again I'm not a US citizen.
Do you really think to need 200w for example to begin with? (Honest question) Had a moment where you thought, ah it be great to vape this at 200w?
I have an ipv4s and it never fired its max setting but I care more for flavor than blocking the sun.

In the end , no matter what you buy, the next 'big' thing will be there and you still will want it :)

I also don't get the fascination with high wattage mods. Who really is vaping at 200 watts? Seems to me people buy these mods more for bragging rights or to keep up with the crowd. I have an IPV4s coming which I got mainly for the Ti support and dual battery. I doubt I'll ever go over 50/60 watts with it.

Bull.....
You can get the same vape off of either, you just have less of a chance on burning your wick with TC. If you build correctly with TC when your wick goes dry the vapor drops off rather than morphing to charred cotton. Your shortcomings at building and wicking it will be more noticable when building for TC.

TC is already good and is only going to get better. I still find kanthal enjoyable, but a properly set up TC coil will deliver the same hit no matter how I feel like pulling; you can't say that about a high wattage kanthal build that requires a lot of airflow to avoid burning.

Well you have set me straight. My six years of vaping without ever scorching a wick or getting a dry hit is meaningless now.

I bow to your superior technical prowess.

I am a US citizen. I have ancestors that arrived on the MAYFLOWER. I don't get the need for 100W much less 200. You ever consider you are not satisfied because yo are OVER powering. What I don't get is the belief that more power equal a better vape. You know, that less is more comment, that gets tossed out when discussing WICKs can apply to most if not all other parts of Vaping also, if not life in general.

Good advice, i also have a Sigeli 150watt box and a Dimitri Mech and an authentic Dos Equis Mech plus the IPVD2 and the Kanger Kbox 40Watt with so many RDA, RBA, and Tanks lol

The reason i was looking into TC was because i enjoy the flavor on my Titanium builds for the IPVD2 and the fact that i can literally hit it 15 times before needing to redrip without a burnt taste is crazy, with my Sigeli 150 at 95 Watts and dual 22g 5 wrap macro coils set at 0.15 ohms i need to redrip every 3-5 hits and its on my Velocity RDA which has a big juice well and my cotton is packed down lol.

With the Sigeli i find myself taking a hit or two and then taking the cap off to see if its ok to take another hit while the TC IPVD2 i hit it until it stops producing.

haha i laughed hard at the blocking out the sun part, its true though even with my Sigeli 150 i've hit it once at 125watts and felt like i was going to die lol i don't want it for the 200 watts i want it because everyone is stating that the TC is going to be better then any other TC device out and its future proof and will last for years and this will be the one device that does it all... maybe im buying into the hyper to much.

I can't see myself vaping under 75 watts honestly, but i agree that 200 watts is to much, i never go past 110watts.

He said A BETTER VAPE, not that kanthal will burn or not.

There is no comparison for me in QUALITY OF VAPE...It's not even close FOR ME.

There is no vape like a 22g low ohm build on a Tugboat. It's in a different galaxy then any TC build. Not even close in comparison.

I like my 22g low ohm builds too, I am starting to think the IPV3 Li is the perfect middle ground for the $79.99 it costs, it does Ti, Nickel, also just had the upgrade to 200 watts and usb set for updates in the future and built of high quality.

I can't remember hearing anything but good comments about the IPV3 Li. Could be a good idea and you will save quite a few $ if you go for that instead.

Exactly and if i really want the DNA200 later down the round i guess i can wait until my Birthday in February which would give them enough time to see if its worth the $200 - $300 or maybe something better will come out haha I want to clean my shelves of reg. mods and mech mods etc., and just have 3 main go to devices which in my head seems to be my IPVD2 for portability and then the IPV3 Li for home use and the DNA200 if its worth it.

Give the unfair stereotyping a break, just because there are some who vape differently than you, or use devices you have no interest in. I have a Snow Wolf 200w mod and I bought it because of a combination of things....mostly because of duel 18650 batteries, and I really like the style. Sorry, but "bragging rights" or trying "to keep up with the crowd" never came to mind.
