Hey all,

I fell into ecigs a little less than two weeks ago. I had limited funds until my next paycheck and it wasn't going to be enough to buy enough regular cigs to last til paday at NYC prices (11.50 for a pack of Camel Lights...eeeesh), so I frantically googled for alternatives just to get through the week. I landed on ecigs, and found a vendor in a junky little head shop near work. Went there on my lunch hour and haggled with the guy over a Smoke51 starter kit, til he gave it to me for the cash I had on me and a $5 IOU (which I've since repaid).

I wasn't really a fan necessarily of the hardware--burning through the battery charge really quickly, but it got me through to my next check, and that's all I could ask for. But the vaping experience itself, the smoothness of the inhalation and immediate cessation of hacking cough while still keeping the hand-to-mouth action intact...brilliant! I started poking around here (amazing resource this community has cultivated for us new people) and found a vendor relatively close to home (quick shipping!) and ordered an eGo starter kit and some juice as soon as I was paid again. I've got enough stuff now to last much longer than the same money would have gotten me in NYC analog prices. It's amazing! I don't miss my pack and a half daily Camel Light habit at all. My wallet and my lung capacity are both thankful.

Certainly, I have a lot to learn about the finer points. I'm trying to get into dripping, but I often wind up screwing it up somehow. I'm working on that, haha. And I'm sure I'll sort it out soon with all the tips and references stored here.

My name is Maria and I'm pretty sure I've completely shaken traditional cigs in favor of e-cigs. Woot!

Congratulations to you both, vaping is a wonderful thing. The little tricks you will pick up as you go along, I love dripping my juice onto my atty, great flavor and lots of vapor. My eGo is my best friend and I never go anywhere without her. Welcome to ECF, lots of good information and great people willing to help. If you have any questions, just ask and you will get some good advice. Happy vaping!!

Yes she is so right, this site is a wonder place. So much support and loads and loads of information. To be honest I have never seen such a community on the internet. I am so thankful for this site and I know that it helps in the success of so many turning their backs on analogs. You have a bad day, just say hey, BAD DAY HERE and you have the flocks running to pull you through. You over come a milestone they are standing at the finish line cheering you on. You have a question, they are more than happy to share and I am find many many very honest answers. Not what you want to here but the truths that you need to hear.

I too really want to do the DIY but I have decided to take advantage of some of the sample items from the different companies first so I can get a feel for what I like and not spend money on flavors that will just sit on the shelf. So I am giving myself a little while in the learning curve before I jump into that. However, I think I will work on building the basics, just not the flavors yet.

GRATZ!!! To you and finding a way to beat the analog and welcome to the world of vaping. :)

:) Vaping actually saved my life, I had a ulcer that caused me to die, and the doctors were able to revive me they told me that the ulcer was caused by a mixture of aspirin and some of the harmful chemicals in analog cigarettes, the ICU doctor told me about e-cigarettes and that I would still get the nicotine. I was skeptical at first I told the doctor I tried the patches and the gum, he told me vaping was different because it took care of the habit of the smoking action. I have been vaping ever since I got out of the hospital, and my skepticism is gone, I have been smoke for one month
