I'm not seeing it as obvious intention to incite anything. Sometimes a topic raises disputes, I don't see this as intending to cause issues.

I prefer Mechs, my choice. Everyone is entitled to theirs too.

Keeping things on track, yes I can see Mech's going to the museum, but I'd still be using them regardless.

No need to close or delete this so far, let's just discuss the topic and all is good.

Cheers

TM

It seems that we all, ( the ones that count anyway), ( :) joke :) :) ), agree that regulated mods offer more possibilites, more safety and an overall better vaping experience and that mechanicals are good for collecting mods and for a possible end to civilisation and maybe to show off our skills once in a while.

I have to go make the BBQ ready.

Two words:
Amp limit.

Regulated mods have them.
Mechs do not.

Obvious difference no one bothers to notice.

Better is a subjective term.
Neither is "better".
They are different.

Regulated mods will always have limitations .
Mechanicals do not.

Reliabity is no contest.

Each have advantages, but they will vary from vaper to vaper.
There is no advantage to someone like me using a regulated device.

Then, what exactly is the point of this thread?

You can lead the horses to the water but you can't make them drink ! You can scientificaly prove that the world is NOT 6000 yrs old but can not convince everyone. That's all I can tell you about the subject matter. The rest should be obvious.

79$ will make limitations of any mechs obvious.

Crazy man,, Firecrow, you just told my story here,, :)
I tried to quit smoking for several years,, patch, gum, acupuncture, hypnosis, "the pill", counseling, "quit lines", etc. etc. etc. ..
Finally got a decent spinner and a Kanger.. That was the beginning of the successful attempt.
I didn't want to go the whole "cloud blowing" route so I got a Provari and a Kanger 2 tank and was happy and satisfied with it all, life was good..
My friends were noticing my lack of tobacco use and started asking questions,, I sold them my older spinners and tanks and bought better hardware and juices,, It was brought up that someone should open a store in this area after a few months and I said, "I'll help" (foolishly).
I ended up opening a small shop in Kenai Alaska to help folks get off stinkies, just offering regulated mods and the best juices I could get a wholesale price on and soon folks were asking about mech mods... I got a few low end mechs and drippers and learned how to make them work (thank you you tube!) ..
I troll this forum at least once a day looking for information on new stuff and found the kayfun lite + and got a couple for the store,, I am using one now.. Got a couple of russian 91s and needed a mech to fire the RBAs so vanilla mods were the best choice..
I found out I liked the flavor of a dripper and got some IGOw7s for the store also..
As my vaping preferences change (and those of my customers) my shop will continue to evolve..
Juices with national recognition are making their way into my store and more and more folks in this small town are switching to personal vaporizers for the nicotine,,
As this has only taken 12 months (from me quitting) I guess this is the opposite of "long story short" lol
The store has been open for almost 3 months now. It is small (600sq.ft.) but packed with juice and hardware for my small town peeps that want to quit smoking...
My daily vape devices are, vision spinner/kanger mini3, sigieli20w/KFL+, vanilla copper/igo-w7
I have removed the phrase "I'll never do that" from my vaping vocabulary..

Well done, good luck and all the best to you. The vaping world will continue to progress and the tobacco empires will dwingle.

I think my favorite feature of VV/VW mods is that when the battery is at 3.5v and I'm away from home, I can still get a 4v vape. When that dies, I can change the battery. With a mech, Your best vape will be between 3.7v and 4.2v and that range is fairly short lived. My old Joye 510 was that way. You could tell when the battery was beginning to die because the vapor fell away.

I'm not against mechs at all, I'm just not a high watt or sub-ohm vaper. I like being told I have a short without seeing smoke and heat and maybe sparks and having to chunk the stressed out battery in the trash. I have one old box mod that uses stacked batteries. It stays in a box.

I'm also not a big fan of dripping, so I'm probably not qualified to comment. Carry on, guys!

Typical comment of someone who attacks the messenger and does not, ( can not ?? ) talk about the message. Pls read again and do not make it personnal ! I am talking about technological progress. Pls get with it !!!

btw, it is now 5 months :)

Your message - Mechs are Dead
Mine - No they have purpose as do my Regulated mods
Not sure what you think I missed

4months, 5 months Does not matter.
Personal opinion is just that and yours is no better than the next. An attempt to prove ones Superiority through degrading/insulting remarks on any opposing view is less than impressive.

Good Day :2cool:

Interesting comparison to the photography industry. I worked for Kodak when digital first came around and I remember telling my bosses that silver based photography was going away for the masses, when they were all in denial. That being said, I have always enjoyed shooting with a large format camera and working in a wet darkroom, much more that clicking a mouse in Photoshop. It's about the process. Might I interest you in a brand new Ebony 20x24? https://www.badgergraphic.com/store/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=63

I also wish I hadn't got rid of all my vinyl when CDs came around.

I suppose the photography analogy is a good one. I remember years ago, my first SLR camera was a Yashica. There was no auto exposure nor auto focus. Yet with some practice, we could take some beautiful pictures.
Some of us enjoy the process. Some of us prefer 'point and shoot', or in the case of vaping, 'set and vape'. I'm a hobby vaper. I enjoy the process involved in achieving the end result; and I'll put my end result up there with whatever another vaper achieves with 'set and vape'. Why? Because some of us, myself included, have spent a lot of time developing their process.
I've been making my own juice for over 3 years. In that time, I haven't spent a penny on vendor juice. Is vendor juice better than my DIY? I dunno. But I've spent a lot of time learning to make what I like.
Better overall vaping experience with regulated mods? Not to me; because the process of mechanical mods, building wicks and coils for RDAs and RBAs, developing and making DIY e-liquid IS the experience.

I love my mech mods. And I love my regulated mods. But I love my reo more than any. I love the knowledge I have gained from using mechs. I now understand how mods work and electricity. Had I stuck with regulated mods I wouldn't. But I digress. Neither is better. Neither one is going away. With just as much improvement in regulated mods, so too has been with mechanical mods. Everybody has their niche, and I have found mine with my mechanical reo :)

I always wanted to get into "real" photography, including the processing, but it was quite expensive an undertaking, I learned, so I couldn't really afford it. Then I was diagnosed with adult-onset asthma, and had to say goodbye to several long-standing dreams, like photo-processing and learning to SCUBA. When digital photography came out, suddenly there was a light in my tunnel... ;) So I've had a digital camera since the 2 mp versions, now have a nice 16mp Canon, though I preferred my 8mp Nikon, much better lenses, and although it's an old version, Photoshop to play with. Love it, Love it LOVE IT as much as I ever thought I would love chemical processing... and no fumes or bad smells or need for darkroom. :thumb:

PS... my husband (and I) still have a pretty large vinyl collection, but we need to put them on MP3s or CDs, so we can preserve the albums from further damage.
