I don't see any ridiculing, bullying or intimidation in crxess's post and it was quite informative for me :). I now know why you don't understand why mechanical mods work for so many people.

'Busted' is what comes to mind for me, LOL.

Busted ??? Obviously you are in denial. I really don't understand the likes of you. Over 6000 posts and you could not come with anything intelligent on the subject, only sly remarks, pity ! I hope you are not as ********* as this thread shows you to be.

It seems you created this post in order to get a rise out of a large group of mechanical device users in this forum. I believe, IMO, that this would have started as a more friendly debate to you simply stating WHY you believe the regulated are better than the mechanical. It certainly seems to be a tad aggressive to say that mechanicals will end up in a landfill. With this approach, did you not expect more of a backlash than a debate?

Actually I was expecting a debate on the value of mechanicals. The subject here is about vaping instrument, it is only a vaping tool. This is a forum, debating ideas and opinions is part of a forum's role.

It is sad, but always a hoot, to read the negative personnal comments from those who have nothing to contribute but somehow feel threaten by technology and progress . Sadly the reactions become virulent when this is the opinion of a, (relative), newcomer to the forum.

In all the comments on this thread, many stated their preference for mechanical mods, some mentionned that they enjoy both and a few brought valid arguments for using them instead of regulated , and I mean only a few.

My opening statement saying that, IMO, soon most mechanicals mods will be gathering dust, in a landfill, (or in a closet I can add), has not been repudiated. It remains my opinion.

Saying so should not be viewed as an attack on anyone. So please put away your weapons and use dialogue instead. Otherwise the forum police WILL close this thread.

I'd take the latter anytime if they were legal in my country. Penalty for just owning an unregistered one (not carrying) is 12 years in a federal penny.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, you cannot register them... ;)

Sad, but chaos could ensue if guns were not controlled. Or, maybe crime and corruption would dwingle, ( that word again :))

Unfortunately, as it happens elsewhere too, when guns are ilegal, only illegals have them. I keep a pair of 9mm kurz (highest legal caliber for civilians) at home, fully registered; but they won't be a defense against an AK74 or M16 toting goon bent on assaulting me.

I'm inclined to agree with OP. High wattage regulated mods will give you the low sub ohm versatility of mechs as well as the awesomeness of power regulation. Especially with new regulated mods like the 100watt Sigelei, I'm guessing that mechs will eventually die out as the first choice for most people unless they just don't like boxmods.

There will always be a market for the unusual, obscure, and unique. A lot of you probably don't have a studded leather belt or a codpiece that flips down and has a pair of pistols behind it.

If I owned such an item I would likely not let word out, and yet your point is well made.

I own a variety of items that are no longer up to date in terms of functionality; a compass set (draws circles etc.) that's well over 100 years old, arguably CAD works better but not for my needs, I can navigate using maps and a magnetic compass, arguably accomplished with far greater accuracy using GPS, I use stones to sharpen my knives, a task done with machines and modern abrasives will do the same faster.

Still, these items are not collecting dust, they are instruments that facilitate learning skills, skills that while not absolutely required for modern living, are skills that I enjoy having.

For me, vaping gear falls into the same realm as these things. I can enjoy the learning of a skill, the time it takes to build an atty to work within the confines of my mechanical mods ability to deliver power. I'm the safety, or, if I so desire, I can throw caution to the wind.

Much like a modern car may have a speed limiter to keep it within safe speeds, a regulated mod keeps the user from having the ability to make a decision (limiting capability).

For some, it is more a matter of freedom to set ones own limits that is desirable, some might never drive that governed car to its limited speed, but knowing it is limited creates an undesirable view of it. I would rather own an ex cop car Crown Victoria than a fully optioned version for this very reason; the cars are otherwise identical engine wise.
