Greetings all
Been vaping since the beginning of the year...
Got myself a
75W vaporesso TARGET 2 VTC Kit with Ceramic cCELL Coil a month or so back
Loving the look and feel and flavour...
But!
I notice the cCoil gets a black gunk build up and a metallic flavour as well as being difficult to draw from, and have had to replace them more often that expected.
My ratio varies but mostly tend toward 70/30 VG/PG and 12mg nicotine
Any advice?
Like what is the best way to clean them if possible?
I do use a q-tip to remove what gunk I can regularly
Should I tend toward more PG or an equal balance?
Much appreciated

Usually sweet juices gunk a coil much faster than other juices and unflavored will last longest.

Yoy could learn building and Dry burn the gunk off the coils in an RDA or RTA. Do not Dry burn Nickel or Titanium coils.

I use standard Kanthal. When tge flavor goes wonky i remove the wick Dry burn the coil, install a new wick and in vaping in about 2 minutes.

My coil in the compact Kayfun in avatar lasts me about 3 months.

Welcome and glad you joined. Gunk can be a problem with every vape.
"I do use a q-tip to remove what gunk I can regularly"--- Sounds like the best solution.
Not sure on the metallic, last I heard that SS material works best to eliminate the metallic. Not sure if you can use SS with ceramic though.
"Should I tend toward more PG or an equal balance?" The type of e-liquid (chocolate etc.) causes more gunk than the changing of VG/PG ratio for me.

May be the technology has moved past what I know about but the last time I checked the only practical thing to do with pre made coil heads is replace them and how long they last may depend on the kind of flavoring and the percent and about how many ml of liquid you put through them. I believe most people get 1-2 weeks from a pre made coil.

I don't like coils gunking up and don't like paying dollars every time I want a fresh vape. I make my own liquid and use only 1% flavoring because that turns out to be enough for me and because gunking is reduced a lot. Even so I like a fresh wick 2-3 times a week and a new coil once or twice a month. To have that I rebuild an RDA. Wire can cotton cost pennies and my annual cost for e liquid is under $30. In the mean time I'm always vaping an a very fresh wick and clean coil. The first few tries mixing and rebuilding take some time but after it gets routing the time involved is trivial.
