First post. Greetings!

For about 15 years, until yesterday (and hopefully henceforth) I was a one-pack per day (on average) P-Funk light smoker. More than that if I went out for libations or coffee with friends.

Been a lurker here briefly, but got so excited about the PV concept that I pulled the trigger after just a few days of dedicated lurking/research. I decided on the Vapor King! I based my choice on several factors, including convenience, flavor, throat kick, battery life, product support, testimonials (GrimmGreen's and Leaford's Youtube vids are great), etc.

After receiving my package within two days (I live one state over), I very excitedly opened my goody package (thanks for the bonus cartomizers Steve), set it all up, and started vaping for the first time. It's only been 24 hours but the experience is mostly sufficient enough to convince me that this will be a fantastic alternative to analog cigs. I have considered having an analog again (for research of course, to see how long one took to burn, how often I'd take a drag, how long the cig lasted, etc) but I just don't feel like I need to have one, so I will not.

vaping in the VK's (my only PV experience thus far) is pretty dang similar to cigs. I'd have to say that it's unique, not exactly like burning tobacco, but close enough, and superior in many indirect ways.

My questions so far: I've been using both the batteries and the USB pass through, and it seems like I have to pause a lot more than I'd like because the carts get warm... and particularly when using the USB pass through, they get damn hot (albeit the puffs off the pass through have more of a kick). I suppose I am chain vaping because I'm a rookie, but I just wanted to know if anyone else had the same experience... if you have to stretch out your time between puffs to let it cool down more so than you'd like.

So far, so good, but just wanted some other input on the whole experience. Thanks!

Aaron

Hi and welcome! Congrats! You found a winner without purchasing a lot of different vapors lol. ;) And yes, you are probably chain vaping. You will find your stride, don't worry! Take a long....deep.....draw and relax! Ahhhhhh! No hurry to exhale, just enjoy the experience.

Awesome, gratz!!!!

I find myself chain vaping at times, at times I'll put out two carts to switch if I find em getting too hot.

I am wondering if maybe you need to bump your nic level up a notch? Sounds like you aren't getting the satisfaction you are craving. I had to have the 24mg with my 510 or nothing, but find the 16mg with my vk is just right. I tended to chain vape my 510, with this I am slowing down and enjoying. Maybe it is just experience?

Hello Aaron,
I found that I only vape when I get a craving for an analog. I don't vape like I used to smoke. Keep in mind that the effect is a bit different. It might take a few minutes for the nicotine to satisfy you, where as an analog was instant gratification. However I am finding as my lungs clear a bit it is not taking as long for the nicotine to take effect...it only takes about a minute and I have been vaping for a short time. As far as the analog, do not smoke one unless you absolutely have to. After a few days without them it becomes much easier, although I was very surprised how easy it was for me to ditch them. I have not had one since I started vaping. Also JenJen is right...I am currently vaping 24mg. I received an order today of the menthol 16mg...I still have to try it but 24mg is making me just a bit jittery so I may need to cut down a bit..lol.

Thanks Jen, nah I get plenty of satisfaction, vapin' anywhere from 16 to 36. Typically I chain vape when I'm drinkin' hehe, old habits die hard I guess. :D

Well, if you are a two fisted drinker, you could also be a two fisted vaper! lol :p

I haven't had problems with my VK overheating - it was a major problem with the 510. Plus, no satisfaction either. Doing just fine now, thanks to Steve!

What are you saying? What have they told you? Damned KC is lookig in my window again...8-o

Seriously, what is it with P-funk smokers anyway? I was one and I chainvape with the big dogs. It takes an act of congress to pry my passthrough out of my hands. And yes - the cartomizers do get hot if you do this. On a brighter note, it takes longer to get hot than any of my other devices, and it cools off quicker. I have been known to double fist it too...really. Right now I have three full devices sitting on my desk, two on battery and one on my PT...I don't always need all three, but it is good to have em when I go into vaping madness...

Pekingduk's technique is spot on! Don't hurry it, just a quick puff then slooooowly let your mouth fill and inhale. Mmmmmmm vape heaven! Remember children, slow and easy wins the race! lol ;)

You've got the VK mixed up with a 510 or 901, the cart and the atomizer...all together in one package..commonly referred to as a cartomizer... in fact, the atomizer runs *through* the cart material..so technically when the outside gets hot, the inside has been hot a while :)

Nah, I'm talking bout the VK, it's the only e-cig I've got. Sorry, I went shortform, cart=cartomizer, and yeah I can heat em up.

These are just awesome! Officially been 6 days without a cig and that's really saying something after 18 years of smoking! Now my only woe is trying to figure out what flavor to order. I'm thinking the 555 but who knows? I may just get tired of the tobacco flavor all together! The RY4 was good, bu a little too sweet for me to vape all day long. Anyone try the camel?

Camel is a little on the sweet side as well. Marlboro is good, but has a bit of a sweet side. Someone said Hilton doesn't seem to have that sweet aftertaste so I have some on order. I'll let you know!

Actually, I adore the coffee flavors and the VANILLA is my current fave! But once in a while I would like to have something with tobacco flavor, not sweet.
