The Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco has the below statement about Ecigs on their website, which can be found here ABT - Home
The statement appears in the middle of the page under the heading ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES. I cannot find any law passed in Florida that confirms this statement though. Did someone at the ABT just decide this on their own?

Electronic cigarettes containing nicotine from tobacco leaves are tobacco products regulated in the state of Florida. It is unlawful to sell tobacco products, including electronic cigarettes, to a person under 18 years of age. Section 569.101, Florida Statutes, provides that the sale of tobacco products to a person under 18 years of age is a criminal offense subjecting you to criminal penalties and administrative action.

The statutory language is set forth below:

569.101 Selling, delivering, bartering, furnishing, or giving tobacco products to persons under 18 years of age; criminal penalties; defense.—

(1)It is unlawful to sell, deliver, barter, furnish, or give, directly or indirectly, to any person who is under 18 years of age, any tobacco product.

(2)Any person who violates subsection (1) commits a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083. However, any person who violates subsection (1) for a second or subsequent time within 1 year of the first violation, commits a misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083.

Why?

Based on what?

What about zero nic?

Only products that should be restricted are products that have been proven bad......

Yeah, I'm sure kids who want to vape will get 0 nic. They use e-nic to get a buzz. Contrary to popular belief on this forum, nicotine use really isn't healthy.
Drinking a glass of wine a day has been found to be healthy. Should children be allowed to buy wine? How about guns? If a 13 year old can drive a car, should they be allowed to?

Nicotine is actually a neuro-protectant and may actually decrease the chances of getting Alzheimers. PG prevents the spread of colds and vanillin has been shown to kill cancer cells. No tar or carcinogens are produced when vaping. If anything, electronic cigarettes are good for you. If kids are allowed to drink caffeine, why not vape nicotine as well?

I just gave you 3 good reasons why EVERYONE should vape.
Lets play a game. Give me 3 reasons why they shouldn't and I'll give you 3 more reasons why they should. First person to run out of reasons loses. ;)

If a 13 year old overdosed on nicotine he/she would just get sick and maybe vomit and get vertigo. Nothing a glass of water and an hour in bed can't fix. Now if that same 13 year old were to overdose on alcohol, would it be the same story?! Hell no, they would have to be brought to the emergency room to get their stomach pumped. You are comparing several very dangerous things to e-cigarettes which I'm finding to be a bit extreme. Guns? Really? You're going to compare e-cigs to guns? Isn't that a bit of a stretch?

Is anywhere in the 20,000 laws already on the books for guns is it legal for a 13 year old kid to own one?

I've heard the same arguments from those who smoke alternative substances...

My doctor, who is a doctor- I'm guessing you aren't, was thrilled I quit smoking, but said dependence on nicotine and using nicotine isn't healthy. Perhaps some think elevated blood pressure while nicotine is being consumed is good. I'm guessing not many in medical field would, however. What do they know? After all, they are doctors, not posters on a e-nic forum.

The bad part about this is this may be their way to push online sales of vaping devices down. All a kid needs to order vaping gear is a credit card thats it. He can get the things directly sent to his house, alot of my things came in packages if parents looked at them might now think twice about what it is. E-Juice is alot more smaller than a pack of cigarettes are also, so 5 bottles might last a kid a couple months at least. I hope that they dont use this regulation to ban the sale of that stuff online. Though who knows I guess. I dont think any kids should get into a habit. If i knew back then what I knew now I would have never started smoking to begin with, but its one of those things everybody around you was doing it and it looked cool so I decided to start, made me feel kinda like a grown-up. Though if kids are going to start it might as well be with e-cigs than regular cigarettes. I mean they cant be worst for them. Though I feel personally it should have the same laws as tobacco. Thats just my opinion though.
