i don't understand the difference between a "manual" battry and the type of battery i have now, which just works when i breathe in.

why would a manual be better?

Mlady,

In short....

a manual battery is considered "better' because the switch (inside the battery) that you activate in an automatic battery when you inhale will eventually get gummed up with liquid and becomes inoperative.

With the manual battery , you operate the switch manually (it's on top of the outside of the battery) with your finger when you want to activate the atomizer and inhale.
