This is what I noticed about UltraFire batteries:
1. Inconsistent quality... 2 out of the 6 batteries that I ordered had their pcb's and button tops slightly askew. Sure a quick roll on my floor solved that problem, but after that the shrink-wrap on the battery seemed a bit loose after that.
2. Overstatement of charge capacity... I have 4 UltraFire 18650's rated at 2500 Mah, tested on my meter at 1900 Mah, tested my AW's and they tested at 2050 Mah while they are only rated for 2000.
3. Chemistry difference... The UltraFire batteries are a LiCo (ICR) type of battery, AW also makes LiCo batteries but the LiMn (IMR) batteries have a much lower internal resistance (C Rating.) To fire standard 510 attys you need to have at least a 4c rated battery or a 2amp output, ultrafires only weigh in at a 2.5c rating whereas the LiMn types bottom out along a 4c rating. You are putting a great deal of strain on your batteries and thats why they seem to peter out fairly quickly...
Hope this helps...
