Hi all,
Just wanted to introduce myself as a new simplicity 26500 owner -- loving it! Props to DurtyD who helped me find it as part of a quest to find *any* tube mod in the 26500 size. I am simply blown away at the quality of this new mod which somehow manages to be both big and little at the same time. I do wonder whether future incarnations could be made shorter still -- we could end up with a very pocket friendly mod with good battery life, which was my original goal. And here's hoping that we see some more choices come down the pike in terms of 26500 batteries. The efest is certainly OK, but I imagine this form factor could provide quite a bit more, whether in terms of mah or amps.
Anyhow, in addition to checking in as a fanboy, I wanted to point out that the new tobeco kayfun for 26XXX mods is a spot on perfect match for the simplicity. I just got one yesterday (101vape) and it is precisely the same width as my simplicity -- looks like it could have been designed for this mod. As a loyal svoemesto guy, I was hesitant to buy anything from tobeco, but I have to say I am extremely surprised at the quality. The threads are perfect, the o-rings seal with no issues, the airflow adjustment works great (and opens up a bit wider than an original kayfun), wicking is excellent and as to the vape, it is identical to my original kayfuns. The only issues I've had are that the contact screws have sllightly narrow heads making it difficult to capture the coil (fixable with better screws, and still useable as is -- just a bit of hassle was all) -- and a fair amount of machine oil to dig out when it first arrived. I've put it through 3 one hour sessions in my jewelry cleaner and I'm now all set.
And here's the kicker: This friggin thing holds 15ml of juice! So you fill it, at most, once every 3 days. Coupled with the good runtime on these 26500s, this combo is fast becoming the most maintence free mod I own -- it's just always ready and I only rarely think about charging or filling. And that said, I hope tobeco or others will come out with a "nano" kit for this 26XXX kayfun. I suspect that even if it were shrunk down to where the tank was no taller than the chimney's bell, the wider circumference would *still* allow for about 5mls of juice.
And the real kicker is you can get it for around 30 bucks (or at least you could -- I think the first round is near to sold out). Anyhow, hope this mini-review helps someone -- and thanks, Super T, for some fantastic work on my new mod!
