Beginning October - China celebrated for a week. Now with November round the bend x-mas biz is gearing up. Shipping agents - including the various post offices - got nervous about lithium batteries and got hardcore on screening and poking about in parcels... Sum it all up and you might as well strap your order on a turtle's back in the Far East and toss a few salad leaves westwards to get the turtle into a running start ;)

Ordered some stuff end of Septmeber meself - if tracking info is reliable it's just a about to leave Hongkong these days - hopefully on a plane - rowboat might not make it here till x-mas as a present to myself...

But Confuzius say that good thing will come to whe he waits patiently ;)

Correction...the shipping fiasco is affecting more than just HC or FT

This appears to be new

Hongkong Post - Notices - Guidance on Posting of Outbound Air Mail Items

No more paying the extra few cents for HKP...going straight thru with the "freebie" 30+ days "slow boat" option

Pass the word...but please PASS THE TRUTH!

And told you it's not ONLY FT that is getting hammered!
eBay Warns of Delays from Hong Kong Due to Lithium-Battery Ban

Correction to my before post! Stuff is hard to keep up with

Singapore Post - on trial run - full return expected soon

e-liquids - "Officially OK" (pending confirmation from trial run)

EMS/Speedpost

"Normal" cylindrical batteries - officially banned, but few returned packages lately
Built in batteries - officially banned, but few returned packages lately
e-liquids - unknown but hardly any returns

USPS

"Normal" cylindrical batteries - officially banned, but few returned packages
Built in batteries - officially banned, but few returned packages

DHL
Delay - no abnormal delay, only the standard 1-2 days for the website to update
"Normal" cylindrical battery - banned from using regular services, must use special "dangerous goods" service. Custom quotation required per order as price depends on what product (product must be major brand named), quantity, packaging, and destination -- VERY expensive and complicated. Not viable for most customers.
Built in battery - OK, ships normally
So no no no on batteries thru China Post...I was wrong!!!!!

Looks like USPS might be the way to go...but it's a crap shoot

Agreed. I prefer internet sales and shipping to my home instead of driving somewhere to get what I need. It's a matter of convience to me. I will be buying locally (USA) in the future.
For the rep to tell me a shipment can take up to 60 days now, is just unacceptable. I have a parcel that was purchased thru ebay on 9/16 that is out for delivery today. This was originated from Shanghai via China Post. So I find in hard to believe a simple order has a 60 day ship time. It may be "the shopping season" but other vendors are doing now within 15 days.
