Can some one please tell me if the 2A Car Charger will work with the Riva batteries? I have a friend who drives trucks for a living, and I'm about to place an order for him and myself.
Can he charge the Riva with the 2A Car Charger? And if he can, how long does it take to fully charge a battery?

PS: If it does work with the Riva, can you please tell me how much of an impact does it make on the car/truck's battery? I know car batteries aren't designed to work for long times without the engine running and recharging it.

Take this with a grain of salt as I haven't actually plugged my Riva charger into my 2A car adapter, and I don't spend much time around trucks.

There is no reason that the Riva won't play nicely with the car charger. Since the Riva charger shuts off after the Riva is fully charged it shouldn't continue to put a drain on the car battery once it's full anyway.

I don't know about Romania, but if we're talking about "big rig", tractor-trailer trucks, most of them around here have a whole bunch of running lights that are left on overnight anyway (you'll see 'em pulled off the highway to sleep, and the truck is lit up like a christmas tree). The current draw of those lights would likely be significantly higher than a PV charger. Some even have a small generator running to keep things powered/charged overnight.

I would have no problem at all charging my Riva with the 2A car adapter in my personal vehicle. I just haven't had the need to do so yet. I probably wouldn't leave it completely unattended for any significant length of time, but I don't do that with the wall charger at home either.

I had no idea about the lights being left on overnight on big rigs. I'll definitely tell my mate to try the car charger, he always complains how he always has to ask some one at a gas station to charge it while he sleeps.
Thanks for the info :)
